This place is a true gem, fantastic walks, brilliant if good day, jazz Sundays are always a treat too. The kids love the trees whilst you can laze on the lawns

“House being refurbished”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

We are national trust life members but if we had had to pay it would not have been great value as there is little of he house to visit during renovation work, I would have thought they would be able to show more and explain in greater detail as someone has already commented it wold seem sensible in today's environment. The gardens are lovely but thre was music going on and jazz isn't exactly what you'd expect with the nt.

Reviewed May 19, 2013

The gardens and layout here are unique not to mention the house. This location is 40min East of Belfast take a taxi about £30 return, do a deal with the driver tell him what you want I promise you he will work with you, these guys are the friendliest guys you will meet, we had one for three days who took four of us every where even had lunch with us at Mount Stewart Take about three hours best in the afternoon.

“A rainbow of garden colors”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

We had a lovely morning wandering through all the different gardens and watching the swans and other birds. There was a small explanation before venturing into the garden area and then we were on our own. It took us a couple hours and then we went in the house. It was being refurbished so we weren't able to see many of the rooms but when it is finished, I'm sure it will be lovely.

“Work in progress!”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

We visited on a lovely day in early May. The gardens were amazing. Full of colour with spring blossom - rhododendrons, azaleas just coming out and tulips, daffodils and cyclamen. The wildlife were on the lake - swans, tufted ducks, mallards etc which made the walking really interesting. The house on the other hand was a disaster! the guide we had couldn't wait to get us back outdoors! We learned very little- we were very disappointed. It would have been better not to have gone in the house at all!! we are National Trust members so it didn't cost us- we would have been upset if we'd had to pay to go in the house.
