Description: The Quays Bar Portrush, (formally known as The Alpha Bar) is a family run bar with over 40 years experience. Situated opposite the Portrush Train station and a stone throw away from the west strand beach, it is the perfect gathering place for those wanting to enjoy Portrushs famous events such as the North West 200, The Airshow , Raft Race, Atlantic Sessions or Pipe Band Championships. Having been recently renovated and expanded, it is now one of the busiest bars in the triangle area. Winning accolades such as, Pub of Ulster's 2012 'Best new/improved' bars in Antrim and being a finalist in their 'Best neighbourhood bar' division. The Quays bar has become a hub for tourists and locals alike. Hosting a large selection of: beers from 'Around the world', cocktails, draught and bottled beers, coffees, specially selected wines and spirit promotions such as '2 x selected spirits and mix for £5', there is something to suit all tastes. The Quays Bar decor is a blend of a traditional Irish pub theme with a modern twist, offering customers a warm, clean and welcoming atmosphere in which to relax and shelter from the North Coast weather or kick their heels up and start the weekend party. With 5 large screen televisions showing all live sporting events, an extensive outdoor smoking area/beer garden, LIVE music Friday-Sunday, free WI-FI, daily drink promotions and delicious homemade pub grub served Tuesday-Sunday, there is no better place to be on the North Coast. Open 7 days a week and serving food Tuesday-Sunday (during winter months) and daily during summer months. We cater for all parties/charity events/private functions. Buffet and full meal options available.

We spent Sunday afternoon here with friends and kids and the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the food could not have been faulted. Family friendly and great live music - perfect for a lazy Sunday - we will definitely return!

“A warm pub”
Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

Myself and my two brothers called in here last night after having a bite to eat in portstewart....I had heard a lot of good things about this pub so I wanted to see what the Craic was...yeah, it's an ok pub...clean but tables are a little sticky..it was a Monday night and there wasn't many people about, but I can imagine the place would be "well packed" at the weekends..I had two Morgan spice and coke for £5 so that was good value...and my brothers thought the beer was ok too....must go back on a weekend and try it out again.......when it's "well packed".

“Wonderful food”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

We had visited a couple of quite expensive restaurants in Belfast, on our anniversary trip. After a day at Giants Causeway, we went to Portrush where I had been as a child, we were really hungry, and the Quayswas the first place we saw, what a pleasant surprise, so clean, friendly, warm,,,,,the food was excellent, try the Beef & Guinness pie, I swear there must have been half a pound of meat in each one, gorgeous and plenty of it. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you folks :)
