We had a fantastic 2 hour lesson with Jonny on 15th December. All the equipment you need is supplied and is in really good condition (only a few months old). Jonny was great he took the time to explain everything and gave tips to try to help. Already planning another lesson for February - can't wait as we are all totally hooked.

Having visited the school a number of times over the past year I organised a charity surf day with a group of 19 supporters of our charity. Participants paid £25 (half of which the surf school donated to our charity) and enjoyed a 2 hour surf lesson. The lesson fee included use of the wetsuits and surf boards and the instructors tailored the lesson to the needs of the participants, eg. we had one child, some regular surfers and people who had never surfed before but the instructors made sure everyone's needs were met.

First up was a warm up along picturesque West Strand followed by learning some surf basics as well as health and safety for the lesson. Then participants headed into the water to practise what they had learned. Later everyone came back out of the water to practise standing up on their boards (much easier on terra firma!) before giving it a go in the water.

At the end of the 2 hour lesson we all warmed up with some hot chocolate and shared stories of success and splashes in the waves! There are hot showers provided by Coleraine Borough Council also.

I always have a great time when I visit Alive Surf School and am looking forward to organising another trip. It was a great day for our charity and Ricky, Hanno and Johnny were very patient and enthusiastic and ensured that everyone had a great time. Everyone is still talking about the event last week and asking when the next one is!

I would recommend Alive Surf School for anyone who fancies trying their hand at something a bit different. It is completely safe and it doesn't matter if you go on your own or with a big group you will enjoy the challenge of attempting to conquor the waves and you'll make some new friends along the way! From a business perspective working with the school was great. I was able to tell them exactly what I needed to achieve from the event and they even helped to promote it by sharing it on their social media pages. We got some fantastic promotional pictures on the day as well thanks to their openness and willingness to try something a little different!

Definitely give it a go!

The sea felt remarkably pleasant, despite the cold October air (or maybe the wet suits were well suited to the Atlantic). After a bit of warming up our stag party was in the water. Most of us hadn't surfed before, and I certainly still couldn't surf after the lesson! However, the craic was great and it's very liberating to be floating in the sea and it definitely lifted my spirits. All the gear was provided and the instructors were top-notch.

My partner and I decided to give surfing a try and we had a fantastic experience and can't wait to go again. Our instructor Ricky was very friendly, funny and made us feel completely at ease. We started off with a little workout and some stretches then kicked straight into the lesson. After just 2 hours we know how to surf and can't wait to hit the waves again. Thanks Ricky for a fab day! Both I and my fiancee have been to Alive four times now and loved it every time. Always come away with huge grins, in large part due to the enthusiasm of the instructors. All the guys, Ricky, Hanno and Jonny provide an excellent days fun and do all they can to get you ripping up the surf. We'll be ditching work to do it again. If you've any sense, you'll do likewise.
