“Great location with stunning views ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2010

Great views truly but the food was slightly dissapointing. I had the duck with Chilli and Coriander Noodles. The Duck was slightly overcooked but the noodles a bit soggy. All in all though we had a very enjoyable night. There is a great atmosphere here and the views are stunning. One other thing to note about this restaurant is that they have a small cafe downstairs which is a must visit venue, good affordable food and great vistas to enjoy on a nice day out.

“Lovely meal overlooking the beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2010

We came here on the suggestion of the host at our B&B and we arrived just when the early bird menu was finished but we asked and they said if we ordered quickly we could still do it. I ordered the cheese garlic bread, the 8 oz ribeye which came with chips, fried string onions and a peppercorn sauce and for dessert the Eton mess which is strawberries, meringue and whipped cream. All for £13.95 (the set price is £11.95 plus 2 for the ribeye), the food was excellent, the service was good, the view of the ocean was lovely, a great choice in Portrush.

“This was my sixth or seventh visit to 55...”

This was my sixth or seventh visit to 55 degrees north on a work visit to northern Ireland and it didn't disappoint on any level. The place was buzzing when we arrived around 6.30 and continued throughout our visit. The service was attentive, the food delivered promptly and the portions of starters and mains left little room for pudding. The early evening menu at £11.95 is excellent value for 3 courses. Another excellent visit and well worth the detour we made to have dinner here rather than closer to work tomorrow!

“Great view!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2010

We had a very nice meal. The food was very good. They have an early menu that is a little less expensive than the regular menu. The staff was great, even tried to make an American style cocktail for me. There was a good variety on the menu.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2010

I'm not sure where some of the previous reviewers ate, their reviews bear no relation to my many excellent experiences at this restaurant.

55 is without a doubt the best restaurant in Portrush, or within driving distance of it. The views are spectacular, the prices are very reasonable and the service is always friendly and efficient- and welcoming to our children too. The food is the real star though, I can honestly say that I've never been disappointed. The food is inventive, fresh and delicious, the portions are just right and the whole experience a far cry from the great heaps of stodge covered with tobacco onions otherwise available round here!
