“Perfect relaxation provided with a friendly smile”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2010

I stayed at this beautiful, peaceful hotel with my fiance in October 2010. It was our first time staying but the staff made us feel like we were weekly regulars. Right from check-in we were treated like VIP's!

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and so serene. Our room was a deluxe double that came with dinner, breakfast, and use of the spa facilities. It was great value and priced so well. Probably the best value of anywhere we have stayed to date.

The room itself was so spacious and well presented. Cleanliness was of the highest pedigree. The bathroom was large and well laid out. Very clean and tidy with lots of towels and all things needed to help one relax. Our room had a sofa and three chairs. A wonderful king size bed and a huge TV with satellite services and also pay-per-view.

Room service was prompt and well priced.

Dinner in the restaurant was easily the best food my Fiance and I have not only had in a hotel, but have had anywhere at all! I would happily just go back to thishotel for the food alone. Cannot stress highly enough the good work the cooking team do to present and prepare their food. We had a full dinner service and everything was cooked to absolute perfection. Breakfast the next morning was given the same attention even though it was a buffet. There was easily more food available at this hotel than at any other I have stayed at. They really pull out all the stops to ensure their guests have a great stay.

The pool and spa facilities are wonderful too. Kids are allowed in the pool until 7 at night. Then the pool is open only for adults. The pool is huge and the bubble bath is wonderfully soothing. The steam room and sauna are also great to help relax you.

Although we didn't try a round of golf or a go on the driving range these facilities looked wonderful too. The golf course looks as if it has been kept in fabulous condition and the driving range has just been opened and the same can be said of it.

All in all I couldn't speak highly of our time spent at the Hilton Templepatrick. For me it is most definitely a 5* establishment.

The hotel is provides a free shuttle from the Belfast International airport which is only 15mins away. The hotel itself is only a 20 min bus ride from Belfast City Center which the bus 300 can take you there and back at only £3 each way. The bus stops are only short walks from the hotel.
The reception staff were very welcoming and even let us check it as soon as we arrived (10am) instead of the stated 3pm which was fantastic because we were exhausted from our early morning flight.
We had a double guest room with tea/coffee and biscuits provided. The room was clean, spacious and the decor was modern. My only complaint was they didnt provide shower caps and there wasnt a safe in the room. Also a wedding reception was taking part in the hall which was opposite our room. The guests were standing outside and were quite noisey. The reception went on until 1am and i dont think a family with children would appreciate that.

The main restaurant Tefferners made the most wonderful meals although the choice was very limited. The staff were very friendly, polite and the service was quick. Breakfast in that reastaurant was superb with a wide variety and everything freshly made.

The facilities were all included in the package and were a welcome relief when returning from tours. The gym has ample equipment and the steam/sauna room were well maintained. Me and my partner spent 3 days at the hotel for the August Bank holiday break and will definately be returning. It is great value for money at this hotel and the hotel is stunning to look at and stay in.

We stayed from Friday until Monday and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Most of the staff were very friendly and good with children. The supervisor at breakfast on Sunday would benefit from a few lessons on dealing with people from the supervisor on duty on Saturday and one of the waitresses on Monday. Experience and manners always show. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of hot and cold food.

We ate in Kinahan's one evening. It was ok.

We were in a family room. Very spacious and clean. Good shower. Noisy water pipes. In need of a bit of attention or attention to detail for some silly little things.

Complimentary selection of teas, coffees, biscuits and a small bottle each of still water, sparkling water, red wine and white wine in the room, replenished each day. Small ice bucket in the room with ice available from a vending machine / ice dispenser on the same floor.

There were functions on Friday and Saturday night. Some noisy revellers on the Friday night knocking on their room doors in the not so early hours.

The room was well serviced each day.

Partticularly good if you play golf, I dont, this hotel has all the qualities you expect from a decent mid range Hilton. Restaurant choice was a bit restricted as the menu was the same both nights we ate ther, but quality was fine and it was better than driving elswhere. We used the gym and swimming pool both mornings, and it was well equipped, beter than many in this type of hotel. All in all a decent good value stay.

Wanting to spend Hilton points and have a break from Dublin means going to the North as Mount's Juliet and Wolseley are no longer part of Hilton chain.
2 adults and four "kids" travelled. Our 8 and 13 year old girls were well catered for by the pool and tennis courts. The 16 and 19 year old boys less so, but they liked the gym.
The bar is a bit quiet at night. Bar food is decent value but hotel restaurant lacked charisma. The manager in restaurant gave me the impression that we had ruined his day by arriving in at 8.45 pm for a booked table , but his colleagues bailed him out by being charming to us, one employee with an attitude can really tarnish a visit.
We went to the excellent "Oregano" restaurant in nearby Ballyrobert the next night and were really well looked after there with a better value meal as well.
Overall , worth a visit but I think we ll go to Hilton in Belfast next time for a change.

On our our ireland trip we stayed for 5 nights in the Hilton Templepatrick, which is about 20 mins from Belfast.

This place is very much a country club, with many locals and less tourists. It is in a very convenient location to explore Northern Ireland - inluding Giant Causeway and Carrickfergus castle.

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, but everything is a bit pricey.Nevertheless we had a wonderful time there and we would stay in the Templepatrick again.
