Stayed with 11 others as a reunion venue. Two of us booked the hair salon for 3 pm. Arrived on time to be told the owner hadn't turned in and they didn't know why. ( turns out she had hurt her foot and had gone to casualty early that morning and had no phone with her) mind you...I'm sure the hospital must have been able to have called her work for her to inform them. The girl in the salon tried her best and was under pressure but managed to fit us in eventually at 4.30. Incidentally, she was excellent. Thanks Marta.
The room was fine, the beds comfy. Only one sachet of coffee was disappointing.
Staff were fine but none memorable, perhaps because they seemed to be under pressure, especially in the bar. First cocktails we had were fine, but then staff changed and second order came out in large thick glass tumblers, with no muddles, no fruit, no decoration...and no taste of alcohol. So bad we had to send them back. We just ordered wine and gin and tonic as it seemed all they could easily deal with. At £7 cocktails weren't cheap. Bottles of wine expensive also.
Evening meal quite disappointing also. Ham hock terrine thick and chewy and in edible in parts. Beef daube just ok but could have been warmer. Two of us ordered a pasta tortellini and got 6 pieces of pasta. They complained and more brought out. Manager apologised as it was obvious it was a portion suitable for a starter. Dessert of sticky toffee pudding good. One girl who had goats cheese for starter and chicken for main was violently sick all night...she was the only one who had these dishes. And she was a non drinker so it wasn't alcohol related! All in all, it was not a good meal and I can understand why friends who stay here frequently on deals don't eat here. Breakfast the following morning was good. All in all, it was just ok...would I return?...sorry but no. There are other hotels out there charging less who offer more. They are missing a trick here as I believe the pool is nice although I didn't have time to visit it. This is more of a golf venue that a luxury hotel. It is also quite a characterless building.

Room Tip: Wear earplugs if your room faces the golf course as the golfers go out early and the sound of loud v...

Excellent location, very convenient for the ferry, airport and city. We stayed here one night after arriving in Belfast on the ferry from Scotland. Reception were really helpful and our room was excellent - clean and spacious, although a bit too warm (we would have kept the balcony door ajar but for the noise from the traffic), with a pleasant view over the golf course. We really appreciated the good quality food in the bar which was served late into the evening on our arrival. The only downside for me was the quality and price of the wine. We had a free bottle in our room as part of the package - this turned out to be warm, white wine and quite unpleasant, so we didn't drink it. Instead I had a glass of very expensive (the most expensive of our week-long trip to Northern Ireland) and equally unpleasant wine with my dinner. My partner was very happy with his Guinness.
Yes, we would be happy to return here but I will stay clear of the wine.

Hilton Templepatrick is superbly situated on the Castle Upton estate within easy reach (about 15 minutes) of Belfast International Airport. It overlooks a beautifully maintained golf course. Templepatrick village and environs could be described as well-to-do - out of the hurly-burly of belfast-proper, yet only 20 minutes away. Reaching TP from Dublin is a bit of a schlep as one must drive through Belfast. Make sure your satnav is operating! The hotel could enhance a stay by offering a guided tour of Belfast at a reasonble rate

Stayed here for a wedding in July. Rooms were lovely and spacious, clean and tidy and well decorated...Exactly what you would expect from the Hilton.

Breakfast was very tasty and available late in the morning.

After checkout, I was able to still use the facilities around the hotel which was a nice touch.

Would stay again.

Rooms are not quite as fresh as we would have liked. Black mold in showers. A slight odor in rooms, maybe a little musty. The location so close to the International Airport was great. Wonderful quality of food and service in the restaurant.

Hotel grounds impressive. After that, not so good. £100 per night for two night stay, supposed to be a deluxe room, but standard of room and cleanliness was very poor. There were two single beds in the room, you usually expect two double beds. The beds were very uncomfortable, pillows were flimsy and because the beds were so light and on wheels, they tended to move slightly from the wall and headboard during the night and the pillow often slipped down between the mattress and the wall. Very annoying and uncomfortable. The management should take the trouble to spend a night in one of the leading budget hotel chains rooms, to see how far behind Hilton Templepatrick have slipped. And for half the price. Our bathroom was very poorly equipped, the shower was an 'over bath' and curtain arrangement and the spray attachment was not only very poor quality, with very weak pressure, but the mounting bracket on the wall had been botch repaired with a three inch chipboard screw that didn't fill the hole, was dangerously loose and looked awful. All in all, it summed up Hilton Templepatrick's attitude towards housekeeping. Slack.

And then there was the wifi. Cellphone signal weak due to rural location, reception, so anyone needing to check emails, business or banking will need to connect to the hotel's wifi. Wifi is free in the lobby Only problem was, I wasn't renting the lobby, and didn't fancy conducting my business or surfing in the lobby. When I inquired about wifi access in my room, the receptionist apologetically told me that it was very expensive. When I asked "how expensive" she half embarassedly told me "£16". Ireplied "OK, but how much for one night, I'm not staying all week...... " For the record, £16 would easily cover TWO MONTHS high speed broadband these days. Once again, the budget hotels, which are more comfortable and much cleaner, with much better showers, lead the way, allowing 30 minutes free wifi in each 24hr day, so guests can have 30 minutes free in the evening and 30 minutes free next morning.
Hilton, somebody needs to get the finger out.

Would I stay here again, or recommend it to a friend? - not a chance.

To add insult to injury,we decided to have Sunday lunch at the hotel before a long drive home. We were at the Hilton for our son's wedding, and our family had spent a considerable five figure sum at the hotel with the wedding reception and several guest rooms and suites. Lunch was advertised outside the restaurant on a blackboard so we walked in and asked for a table. The young lady approached us looking quite stressed, and announced that she couldn't possibly accommodate us as we hadn't booked, offered no alternative and acknowledged that we had been guests there for a few nights had eaten at the restaurant and had had our wedding party etc but , no way she could get us a table. No alternative suggestion, no apology, nothing. We trooped out through the bar discussing the girls strange attitude when the young barman (Kyle?) noticed our discussion and asked what was wrong. He solved the problem immediately, offered us a table in the bar and fetched us menus, pointing out that they could supply most of the menu the restaurant were offering, prepared in the same kitchen. Strange that the young restaurant manageress didn't suggest that - eh?
