Visited the Raffles restaurant on a Friday night with my wife. We hadn't booked but they had a few free tables.

The decor is quite classical and we were warmly welcomed by the staff. We were shown 2 menus but opted for the £35 special offer which consisted of a starter and main per couple and a bottle of wine. There were 4 options for each course, all of which I would have been happy to order. I chose the mushroom risotto for starters and lemon chicken for main. The risotto was a good consistency with the flavour of the mushroom pleasant. The chicken was moist and full of flavour. My wife had the duck fritters which she enjoyed. Her main was the salmon which was well cooked. A special mention for the accompanying side dishes which included mash with chorizo and cabbage and bacon among the the four that were included in the price. If you arrive hungry you will not be disappointed! The wine was not Chateau Neuf du Pape but pleasant and drinkable. There was an option to upgrade if wanted.

The service was very good and staff seemed keen to create a good impression.

All in all I would find it difficult to find the quality of this food at this price anywhere else. Big thumbs up. We will be back.

Went with friends for a 50th birthday celebration on Sat November 5th. Had 16 in the party and because it is a very small and intimate room we were split into 2 tables.
There was a choice of 2 menus, A La Carte and a Set menu at £55 per couple which included a bottle of wine. The staff let us choose between the 2 menus at no extra cost.
Hors d’oeuvres of olives and little goat’s cheese tarts was excellent
Starters: The soup was duck and chilli which was great; the scallops were seriously tiny, cold and tasteless.
We also got a little cup of soup or sorbet in between courses.
Mains: Ribeyes were cooked as requested but small, the veg was plentiful and tasty.
The desert was the best part; the chef’s selection was excellent.
The service was first class and the staff was tipped accordingly.
We would go again and would recommend it for a cosy intimate dinner.

One of the worst steak ever eaten. Cheap cut of meat sold for dear prices. We will never be back. Starter was nice enough though.

We have eaten in the Templeton on a number of occasions from their New Year's menu to going for birthdays and anniversaries as well as the Sunday carvery and every time it has been brilliant. We have only praise for the way we are treated and the high quality of the food on offer. We really recommend this restaurant. It is reasonably expensive but the food is wonderful.
