Peace and quiet...stunning views...friendly people. If this is what you want from a break, look no further than Ballylinney Cottages. From the first contact with owner Alan on e-mail, we felt welcome. Any question was answered promptly and helpfully. When we arrived, he showed us around the "Wee Stooken" cottage, pointing out all relevant details on heating, ameneties, advice on sights, etc. Great guy! The "Stooken" was a very comfy 2 room cottage, living room/kitchen, bathroom set up which was a good size for 4 people never mind just the 2 of us. Pots, pans, knives, forks, spoons, glasses, cups, plates are all provided. Cooker, dishwasher, washer/drier and fridge all in good condition means all you really need to bring is the food!! To top it all, A LOG BURNING STOVE!!! Heaven on a cool March night!. Plenty of walks around the coast and into Bushmills. If you get the chance, go to the 2 water wheeled buildings over the bridge in the town, if you meet Graham(who is restoring one of the wheels at his own expense!) you will meet one of the nicest guys you will ever meet with lots of stories.
When we stayed in Ballylinney, it was the beginning of March and there were only a few people there, so it was very quiet(which we loved). In June/July/August, it may be different. But I don't think Alan would let anyone get too out of hand!!
Again....we can't fault Ballylinney and we will be back again for sure.
