Arrived to find Barbara not feeling at all well but she had still cleaned and the house was immaculate. Hope you are feeling better now Barbara. Our family arrived later and we all agreed that it was absolutely ideal for us as grandparents and our son and wife with 2 small children. They used the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom and we used the upstairs bedroom with ensuite. Everything needed in the kitchen to cook any sort of meal was provided. The books and games were great for the children in the living area which also had a great TV and a stove which we did not light even though it was really cold outside. However it was always warm and cosy inside with plenty of space for dining and relaxing.
We could not have picked a better place to stay for our post Christmas get together so thank you for a fabulous relaxing house.
The upside down house was spacious, clean and with a well equipped kitchen. The living room, kitchen and one bedroom with en-suite was located on the top floor which gave views of the sea in the distance. It was perfect for relaxing after a days sight seeing and was centrally located for visiting some of Irelands tourist attractions and the drive along the coast route was absolutely stunning. An added bonus was the provision of refreshments (tea, coffee, milk and biscuits), so you can have a cuppa on arrival. A big thank you to Barbara who gave a warm and infomative welcome at the start of our holiday. I would highly recommend this house, as it had a nice feeling to it as soon as you walk through the door and if we return to this part of Ireland in the future I would book this house again.
We had a fairly soggy week in Northern Ireland, but it didn't dampen our spirits. The cottage was warm and welcoming, with everything you could want for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent and we enjoyed short trips to the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, Bushmills, Ballintoy Harbour, Ballycastle, Portrush, Ballymoney and Londonderry (to name but a few). There's an endless supply of playgrounds in surrounding villages to keep little ones entertained. Overall we had a lovely, relaxing stay in a beautiful, friendly country.
Fab house could not fault a thing ,has everything you need . This is a family friendly home, close to all the tourist attractions. The house keeper even had milk tea coffee biscuits left for us,would have no problem recommending this house to friends and family..
We loved this "upside-down" house, with plenty of sleeping rooms and reception area downstairs, and a cosy yet well lit living room upstairs. Kitchen is a good size and well kitted out. The second bathroom in the en suite was a real plus as we had two families in our party. Baby travel cot and safety gate for the stairs were provided which is was very handy.
Our host was waiting on our arrival with the kettle on, milk in the fridge and tea/coffee on the counter. That was really appreciated after a long drive. After that we were left to our own devices which is exactly what you need. Damage deposit was refunded promptly.
Location-wise, it doesn't get much better, especially for the price. You're just a few minutes drive from Bushmills (with shops, places to eat and the Distillery tour), and 10 minutes from most of the best sights in the area such as Giants Causeway and Whitepark Bay. There's also a public playground within easy, safe walking distance for the kids.
Would definitely stay again. Thanks!
First impressions are always important and Isle Cottage scored full marks. It fully lived up to the photos on the website, tastefully presented and well equipped. It was perfect accommodation for a three generation family holiday with easy access to all the main attractions of the beautiful north Antrim coast. On our arrival the kettle was boiled, tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were waiting - a very thoughtful gesture to welcome us and start our holiday off on a good note! Thank you!
The Isle Cottage is a beautiful and spacious cottage; very comfortable and well equipped. The property is conveniently located to the area's many attractions -- Giants Causeway, Bushmills Distillery, etc.. There is not much in the tiny village in which the home sits, but a number of shops and restaurants are just 2 to 3 miles away. Barbara, the caretaker, was warm and welcoming upon arrival, with hot water for tea ready as we stepped in the door.
