A Garden Centre located a short distance from the village of Bushmills displaying a large and varied collection of trees, shrubs and flowers which you walk through on your way to the restaurant followed by an indoor area close to the restaurant entrance containing a large selection of aromatic gift type items mixed with a multitude of other gift items like books, ceramics, Toys and more recently a large selection of Christmas products including a very large Reindeer display. (Great for kids) .
Anyway back to the restaurant, having recently received through our letterbox an offer for a meal for two for £12 between the hours of five and half past seven my wife and I thought why not and headed off to the Garden centre arriving at about 5.35pm
It was easily found by following the Priestland Road for about a mile out of Bushmills to the junction of Ballyclogh Road where we turned right and drove for a distance of about two hundred yards and then turned left into the garden centre.
On arrival we drove straight towards the large building noting a sign that showed the way into the restaurant, on our left was a large number of parking places all occupied and immediately outside the entrance door was a number of spaces allocated for those with disability badges, To the right of the entrance was several more car parking spaces slightly concealed but empty so we parked there.
Having entered the main building and traversed the route through all the products on sale we were now faced with the restaurant door which is glass fronted so you an see inside. It appeared to be full of mostly middle aged and older people with a few empty tables and a dozen or more people waiting to be served. We decided to join the people waiting and as a result had a wonderful time chatting while we waited for our time at the counter, It turned out many of these people were repeat customers for whom it was an evening out in pleasant surroundings.
The meal was served up by very helpful young people and our choice was salmon, potatoes and
vegetables which came in a very generous portion well presented and smelling very nice and on consumption turned out to be nicer than it smelled.
There were adequate tables and the wood seats while not cushioned were acceptable but would not recommend sitting on them for too long, we enjoyed the meals and the chat with the many people we talked to, a very enjoyable experience which we no doubt will repeat.
All this was followed by a free coffee,(this may only have been available with the offer we received)
