Really informative and well worth a visit. Thoroughly enjoyable, even if you don't drink whiskey. Small groups of maximum 15, but beware if you have walking difficulties, there are 130+ stairs to negotiate on the tour.

Having gone to the Jameson's tour in Dublin, as people who appreciate Irish Whiskey, we gave Bushmills a go. While there is no film to get you started (Jamesons tour), there was a young lady who knew everything and anything about the oldest distillery in Ireland, Bushmills. The tour is long, and be aware they ask no pictures taken as this is a working distillery and fires could occur from the smallest of flashes (the whiskey permeates the air in some rooms -- which isn't a bad thing). The only negative of the tour -- AND it can't be helped, is the heat in one of the distillery rooms. The guide warned us of it and did give anyone who suffered from the heat another way out into cool air, but everyone was beguiled enough to stay. At the end of the tour we had a complimentary glass of the of 12 year single malt Bushmills. There was an option to have a personalised label attached to any bottle purchased. We took the option and have a special bottle of our very own Bushmills. If you should stop at Carrick-a-Rede Island (just down the road) and be brave enough to give the rope bridge a go, you'll need to drive on up to Bushmills for a celebratory drink after the fact. Cheers!

An interesting visit as a fan of Bushmills whisky, although they need to concentrate more on their roots & not the fact that they are now part of Diageo. Perhaps they need more to do there too, tour guide was ok, but difficult to hear in some areas. Still well worth a wonder if your a fan, even if its just to pick up a bottle of distillery reserve, only available there!

My wife and I decided to check out the Bushmills Distillery while passing through Northern Ireland during our vacation just because it sounded like something fun to do. Neither of us are big on whiskey, but the tour sounded entertaining based on everything we read so we figured why not.

We weren't disappointed! The tour wasn't terribly expensive and our guide took us through the whole distillery and the processes from A to Z of how the make whiskey. And of course at the end of the tour, you get to sample any of the whiskey's they produce, with the exception of the 15 and 20 year old bottles. I can vouch for the 10 and 12 year whiskeys though!

Overall, a lot of fun and very informative. Definitely worth doing but maybe not if you have kids.

A trip to Ireland would never be complete without a trip to Bushmills where the famous Irish Whiskey is made. A good walk around with a knowledgeable guide. Most people know how alcohol is distilled however just seeing the flow coming out of the vats is mind blowing. You can also get a personalised 12 year old for yourself or a friend.
