“Great location & decor but could do so much better”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

The idea of going to The Nook is better than the acual experience. We always look forward to lunch in The Nook, but were disappointed with our last visit. There is little provision for vegetarians (only 1 hot meal, no choice). It was a miserable day when we went in but the fire wasn't lit. There was bad pop radio playing too loudly (ie presumably what the staff want to hear). And they've stopped doing any herbal teas at all.
It has such good potential, hopefully it will be better next time, although we're in no hurray to return.

“nice place, saves money on causeway - but coffee was disgusting”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

Visited the Causeway and rather than pay the huge amount to park, we went to the Nook for a coffee and scones which we needed anyway and got to park for free.

Its a nice enough place and the open fire was really great. The food looked good, but unfortunately we instead went for coffee and scones and paid a lot of money for a machine latte and capuccino made with water rather than milk. in other words dishwater!

Scones were ok, but werent heated and could have been fresher. Service was a bit surly as well.

“Location, Location, Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

Ate here on a windy rainy night and the fire was most welcomed. We started with wild game soup that was quite good – a hearty meaty broth with lots of meat and tasty vegetables. I had the crab & vegetable courgettes that was delicious. My husband had the largest portion of fish and chips I have ever seen. He could not even finish it. Service was good and we enjoyed our chat with some locals that we sat next to and that gave us some great tips on places to see.

“Nice design, average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

The nook is a nice little stop over when you visit the Giants Causeway. Perfectly acceptable for beer and sandwiches, but being the only pub in stones throw of the Causeways means they've gotten a bit lazy on the food front. it's nice and cozy, and full of cool memorabilia but the food and service is nothing to write home about.

“Great Soup, Service and Music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

It didn't take much to drag ourselves in after a chilly day with on and off showers. We found the staff to be very attentive. The food and especially the soup was great. There was a very multitalented musician who played several songs and cracked a few jokes to keep things jumping. All in all we (6) were glad we stopped in.
