Myself and a small group of friends were attending a charity event with work at the clarion so decided to book rooms at the hotel also. We arrived and went to check in and were met by a lovely woman who was more than happy to help us and answered any questions we had. We went up to the room which was spacious enough with 1 massive double bed and 2 singles. The room was also equipped with a kettle and im near sure there was a t.v. As we were getting ready my friend had phoned reciption to request 4 wine glasses. The lady had put him through to someone else which i think was the bar only to be told that he was there by himself so we would have to go down ourselves. I suppose this is fair enough but i somehow think if we wanted to purchase a bottle of wine for the room this wouldnt be the story! The room itself was great the only complaint I would have was there wasnt much lighting which made if difficult for us to get dressed.
Another issue I had was with one member of staff who was on nightshift at reception. After the charity event I made a number of visits down stairs to get food, drinks and go for a few smokes and this man seem to give me dirty looks the whole night. My friend informed me of this I did not believe it myself until I noticed it myself. I was dressed in drag for the charity event and I believe these looks were given for that reason. In this day and age ALL customers should be treated the same no matter what they are. If he had a problem with myself or what way I looked he is not fit for the purpose of that role at the hotel. On a few occasions there was another man with him and his attitude towards myself seemed to be the same as the man working on reception. I also reported that one of the lifts smelt like vomit and I seen a few hours later that it had not been cleaned. It was however cleaned in the morning when we were checking out. They must have been waiting on the cleaner coming in on the morning shift.
The breakfast which was incuded was nice with a variety of food to choose from. Overall I enjoyed the stay at the hotel except the attitude of the one or two staff members which have already been reported to the mangement.
