Myself and a small group of friends were attending a charity event with work at the clarion so decided to book rooms at the hotel also. We arrived and went to check in and were met by a lovely woman who was more than happy to help us and answered any questions we had. We went up to the room which was spacious enough with 1 massive double bed and 2 singles. The room was also equipped with a kettle and im near sure there was a t.v. As we were getting ready my friend had phoned reciption to request 4 wine glasses. The lady had put him through to someone else which i think was the bar only to be told that he was there by himself so we would have to go down ourselves. I suppose this is fair enough but i somehow think if we wanted to purchase a bottle of wine for the room this wouldnt be the story! The room itself was great the only complaint I would have was there wasnt much lighting which made if difficult for us to get dressed.

Another issue I had was with one member of staff who was on nightshift at reception. After the charity event I made a number of visits down stairs to get food, drinks and go for a few smokes and this man seem to give me dirty looks the whole night. My friend informed me of this I did not believe it myself until I noticed it myself. I was dressed in drag for the charity event and I believe these looks were given for that reason. In this day and age ALL customers should be treated the same no matter what they are. If he had a problem with myself or what way I looked he is not fit for the purpose of that role at the hotel. On a few occasions there was another man with him and his attitude towards myself seemed to be the same as the man working on reception. I also reported that one of the lifts smelt like vomit and I seen a few hours later that it had not been cleaned. It was however cleaned in the morning when we were checking out. They must have been waiting on the cleaner coming in on the morning shift.

The breakfast which was incuded was nice with a variety of food to choose from. Overall I enjoyed the stay at the hotel except the attitude of the one or two staff members which have already been reported to the mangement.

My daughter recently had her wedding ceremony & reception in the Clarion Carrickfergus and I would like to thank the staff for the fantastic service they provided. Especially Lily, the wedding organiser, and David who made everything go like clockwork & nothing, which we asked for, was too much bother for him.
The soup & main course were absolutely delicious & served piping hot. The cheesecake for our sweet course, however, could only be described as bland - but this was a minor fault & the only complaint we had.
The bedrooms were spacious & clean and the breakfast next morning was more than adequate & served by friendly staff.
I was very pleased & would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of having a wedding reception there

My Sister and her Husband got married here on 23rd of November 2012. I must say and I'm not being bias but it was the best Wedding I have ever been too! The service, the food, the room were all amazing! Dave was looking after my sister and her Husband and he was a really lovely man and took care of the couple really well. I can not fault the hotel at all!
There are a few things though the hotel need to look at, like some of the staff outside the Wedding Venue, can be a little aloof, also on check out, there was only confirmation of one nights stay paid for, I had to go search for my credit card receipt, thank god I kept it as there was no record of my payment, which was £160.00 not cheap! The service needs to be a little more seamless. There was one particular girl who was really fantastic, it's a shame I didn't get her name, as the last time I went for dinner at the Clarion she was so helpful! Great Hotel :)

An American feel to this clean, modern hotel and as such lacks a little character.
Friendly staff and excellent dining is a cut above the usual chains.
Good location close to Belfast and picturesque Carrickfergus.
My only gripes: very poor tv reception (basic channels and no BBC2?)., 'free' wifi requires frequent log-ins despite a 48 hour pass.
Overall I would certainly recommend.

I felt I must take the time to thank all the staff at the clarion for a lovely stay at your hotel.Upon arrival myself and my partner recieved a warm welcome by the reception staff the day before the wedding, during our 3 night stay nothing was a problem to the staff and must say would go out of there way to help you in anyway they could. The bar staff were great so much so myself and my friend who was also staying felt it only right we buy one of the barmaids a bunch of flowers for accommodating and looking after us so well.I am well traveled all over the world and have stayed in many hotels,I must congratulate the management on the training of his staff (second to none) as for the chap who left the negative feed back and saying the staff were rude, all I can say is he must have been in a different hotel and people treat you with respect if the same is shown to them and would advise other travelers to ignore his comment as it could not be further from the truth,Once again many thanks for a great break and im sure we will return.

We stayed in the Clarion on Friday16th and Saturday 17th November. We had a special deal, two nights BandB plus one dinner, at a cost of 149sterling per couple. The hotel is very convenient, about 10 minutes walk into Carrickfergus.Everything was beautifully clean, and it was the warmest hotel I have ever stayed in. Our rooms were spacious, and very comfortable beds. We were a group of 8, and one member is in a wheelchair, so they had a ground floor room, which met their needs perfectly, with a large shower. Our group consisted of 3 sisters and 1 brother, with husbands and wives, ranging in age from 55 to 75.On Saturday we did the Titanic experience. It was very easy to get to from our hotel. Our dinner on Saturday was beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was at the front of the hotel, and there wasn't a sound. My brother found his room very noisy, as there were lorries from about 4am.All in all a most enjoyable weekend, and we intend to return there for our next get together, hopefully in May.

Room Tip: The bedrooms at the front seem to be quieter.
