“Lovely surroundings, good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

We called here passing through on our way home after a weekend away. We were seated straight away even though we had no booking and it was quite busy. Our order was taken quite quickly. The menu was really varied. Service was fairly slow although this could be because it was very busy. When the food arrived I had to send my side order of "potatoes in creamy garlic sauce" back. They were covered in melted cheese which was not mentioned in the menu. they were replaced with a very generous portion of chips. Our lasagne and chicken in peppercorn sauce were delicious. Servings are really big. The place has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

“Wonderful surroundings, great food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

In the beautiful surroundings of an old church hall enjoy well prepared food much of which is locally sourced. The staff are pleasant and welcoming and generally are under the watchful eye of the owner. If you leave with a complaint it will simply be that the portions of excellent food are much too big!!!

“Medieval Themed Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

A thoughtfully converted church with a medieval themed decor. Good food and great service. Seems to be popular with locals and out of towners alike. Good vibrant atmosphere so not much chance of a table unless booked, but well worth a try. Great value early bird menu. Situated in the centre of town with easy parking after 6pm.
