We recently returned to Hanover after a bad experience a few years ago. The carvery is their most popular service and they generally have a good spread of food. The surroundings are looking a little tired and, to be honest, the food is too. The starters were a little unimaginative and the main course, although tasty enough, a little too traditional for my liking. The desserts were good but, my biggest complaint is with the service. The owner himself is probably the most ill mannered member of staff and cannot even greet patrons with a smile or courteous word. Our last experience of this hotel was a poor one because of this individual and things have not really improved. Even though we are from the locality, I will be in no rush back.

This is one of my fav places on the planet ! The carvery on a sunday is fab. So much choice and at 5 courses for just £15 its a real steal. I would recommend it to anyone. I've also been in on a sat night and the same things can be said for the menu, so much variety and i really recommend the layonnaise potatoes...to die for! But i would recommend that you ring and book even if it is just as you are leaving the house ( as the staff said) just for your own conviniance because as i have witnessed you could go into an empty room ( which is great to get close to the fire) but in half an hour the place will be full and you wouldnt want to be turned away from this great place. Will be back very very soon !
