Had a lovely meal in the plough, nothing was to much trouble for the staff. We were a large group dining everyone had their starters together as well as their mains.
Portions are good sizes, well worth a visit.

Really can't see what previous comments are on about, will definately be going again.

The rest of my family have been saying how good the Plough is for a long time so decided to give it a go - we had the specials - ie ribeye followed by the homemade white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake - one of the best steaks we've had - delicious pud too. Service friendly and prompt, spotlessly clean pub - we got the last table on a Wednesday at 7 o'clock which I think says it all.

Went there for Mother's day as my mother can't get around very well and this as far as access is concerned is not bad. We got there before the 1pm time we booked. Took only about 5-10mins to take order but waited about 5 mins after this for our starter. There was no option of having 1 course or 2 courses, everyone was tied in to having to pay for three courses whether you wanted it or not which is not great when you have young teenagers who are too old for children's meals but can't even contemplate three courses. When it hit 2pm and we had sat there an hour and no main course, we were getting annoyed, I waited another 5 mins and then after seeing a table that came in after us getting served first I went to the bar and made my complaint. We still had to wait another 10 mins before the food reached the table with an excuse and a free bottle of house wine but no offer of drinks for the children. We went to the bar three times to try and get drinks for them but no-one appeared. I thumped on the bell about 5 times until someone finally did and asked for drinks for them and asked if they would not charge for them considering the length of time they had sat there with no food. My mother had wanted to go here but when I saw the price - £17.95 per head - alarm bells were ringing as these are the prices that places like Hurst House Laugharne charge, however for this you get fine dining food and fine dining waiter/waitressing, maitre d and the rest. The Plough Inn, you are as far removed from fine dining as you can get. You should be ashamed of yourselves because you know exactly what you are doing, you are taking advantage of regular customers and people who just turn up with you not having considered that you would rip them off. I am Welsh through and through but you are also taking advantage of the not so bright in the locality. Shame on you, won't step over your doorstep again. Also, message to Mum and Dad who own the place, your son and daughter are imcompetent at running the place. How difficult is it to serve sunday lunches easy and quickly. Other places in Carmarthenshire put you to shame and serve up better quality food, provide better service for far less of a rip off price.
