Lovely food home made on the premises and lots of it, reasonably priced, and children welcome, small little pub, so we had to book in advance to get a table.

Renowned and rightly so - the meals are delicious and the portions always impressive.

I would describe a typical Butcher's meal as a 'higher-end pub meal', meaning it is very tasty, carefully prepared with regard to flavour, but without pretentious arty-fartyness.

The staff are very attentive and are often young people who live locally; they provide a welcoming environment, all under the eagle-eye of Mavis, the proprietor!
The Butcher's mixed grill is legendary, and I have enjoyed many other dishes too - never been disappointed.
They never scrimp on portions either - you really get what you pay for.
If you want reliable standards, tasty food and a good feed, this pub will never let you down.

This is our second visit to the Butchers, we would really love to visit more but with a young family it's not so easy! it is important that we find somewhere that caters for the children but still offers great quality food. The Butchers Arms once again did not disappoint. We had a fantastic evening and the food was delicious. It has such a lovely atmosphere there that you really feel at home whilst still serving meals of such a high quality. I would certainly recommend a visit and we hope to call back soon.
