Just of the A48 after Crosshands but before Carmarthen, if you ever are heading down West Wales way make time to pop in for lunch or even dinner (booking advisable in both cases).

The welcome is very warm and friendly and the staff can't do enough for you.

The menu has a great choice of options and desserts are worth saving a little space for Mmmm.

From fish to steak and of course Lamb. All cooked fresh and always well presented and never too much.

A full variety of drinks and in the summer you can sit outside to enjoy the sun. It is a great little sun trap in a lovely tiny village.

From the outside it looks like a classic Italian, but inside is a traditional british pub. Always very clean and busy. They obviously do have children eating there but it is great for a nice romantic meal too.

A lovely churchyard right next door always worth a look around. Amazing setting.

I understand that they also have a cottage they rent out too. This is a great central location if you are ever visiting Wales.

Great landlord and staff. We visit maybe once or twice a month for lunch or evening meal and have not once been disappointed. They also do all the menu as a take-away, though we have never tried this service because you miss the great atmosphere of the restaurant / pub.

Enjoy.

This is a superb country pub, offering delicious food, beers in tip-top condition, and good wines. Two of us dined here last week. Booked over the phone - courteous, articulate staff.

On arrival, we were welcomed instantly, the open fire was roaring, and there were enough staff to meet our every need (we counted at least five). We were able to order swiftly (a challenge with such a delicious menu!), and things flowed smoothly.

It was a busy Friday evening, but there was never a sense of hurry, or that slightly fraught air that can, in some establishments, filter through to customers. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and flavoursome.

Devilled Kidneys were fine, as was the Duck. Puddings were tantalizing (we behaved and shared one - the chocolate tart. Glorious)

This is a smart country pub, working hard to offer a quality dining experience. Do go and try it - you won't be disappointed.

Llongyfarchiadau i'r staff yn y dafarn hyfryd yma!

Four of us booked a table for 6pm with the restaurant requiring our departure by 8pm. Service was swift and polite. Food was good. Has a salt and pepper squid starter, followed by hake in butter sauce. Both dishes were well cooked. Portions were quite generous. A little annoying to be asked to free up our table before the agreed time of 8pm. Prices, for village pub food, were quite expensive: £15-20 for a main course and £6 for starters with deserts at £5-6.Still an enjoyable evening and I recommend the restaurant.

My wife and I had a meal at The Butchers after it was recommended to us by the farmers wife where we moved our caravan - she was not wrong, spot on with her recommendations.

A very busy pub with a good variety, including local pull ale. Dining room but no problem eating your meal next to a roaring log fire.

Proper chips and steak to die for. Friendly helpul staff. We didn't try the puddings, we will when we call next.

Portions were megga - atmosphere was great - we will definately visit again.
