Check opening times online before you head out for this attraction as when I checked (autumn 2011) it was not open again until April!

“A glimpse of the past”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2012

I have just read the one star review that condems this place as being 'a tragedy' and feel the need to point out that it is totally free and is open to the public to give a glimpse of what used to be. There is limited admission nowadays.

“What a disaster”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2012

The strongest memory I'll retain of this museum will be of the signs informing visitors of what used to be on various parts of the site, the place is somewhat of a well intentioned tragedy. Shame really as surely it could have been better.

“Good old steam engines”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2009

Kidwelly Industrial Museum is an old tin plate factory. It traded with varying degrees of success between 1737 and 1941. It has free entry and is lovely on a sunny day as most of it is outside. There are a couple of railway engines that youngsters can climb in and pretend to drive and lots of machinery for intersted adults. Make sure you catch the ten minute video in the portacabin as it really gives you a feel of how hot, dangerous and dirty the conditions were for our ancestors.
