“Picturesque cottage, helpful host”
Reviewed May 4, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We stayed in Parc y Brenin Cottage for one night as part of a tour of Wales. The cottage was lovely and historic feeling, but also had fast Wi-Fi - the perfect blend of old and new. Logs, milk and eggs were thoughtfully provided by the host (who lives next door) free of charge.

One thing that should be mentioned is the bedrooms: although there are two, the stairs (and the single downstairs bathroom) are accessed via the first bedroom. It's a minor point, but worth knowing. And, as is common with many historic cottages, the ceilings are also fairly low - especially upstairs. We're only 5'10", and we banged our heads a few times.

“Absolutely charming...loved it!”
Reviewed January 24, 2017 for a stay in January 2017

We wanted to join family staying in the area for a celebration and stumbled on this property quite by accident when looking online for a hotel. We couldn't have been more pleased. It Is as pretty as a picture, just too lovely for words. It couldn't be more cozy or romantic. So much better than a dull and impersonal hotel room and so much more for the same price. Thank you Jasmine.

“Idyllic Cottage”
Reviewed July 23, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed at Parc y Brenin for 3 nights and fell in love with the cottage. Very comfortable, cosy and welcoming especially the log burner and the welcome welsh cakes (we are now a fan). A perfect location if you want a quiet break "away from it all". Would definitely recommend this cottage. Was worth the 10 hour journey to get there!

“Like being in a Jane Austen movie!”
Reviewed June 7, 2015 for a stay in October 2013

I actually came here in October 2012 with my mom and sister. The beds were comfortable, plenty of space for the three of us. We are from the US and you can't find a cute place like this so easily. This was one of our favorite places we stayed while we were in the UK. Beautiful country, the owner was wonderful and very courteous. I would recommend this to anyone!

“A romantic little snug in the countryside”
Reviewed March 5, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

This is a beautiful and well kitted out cottage. We enjoyed evenings in with candles and a log burning fire listening to music from the CD collection available - great selection! It was very peaceful which was just what we needed after a gruelling week at work. We used it as a basecamp to explore the area...it was always so warm and cosy which was great after a chilly day visiting castles!

I would definitely recommend this cottage to a friend...but would advise that friend to watch their head. Part of the charm of the cottage is that you need to duck going up and down the stairs due to low lying beams!

I am giving it 4/5 due to one area which i am sure the owner will sort now i am flagging it- there was not one frying pan in the whole place that wasnt caked with burnt bits...and beyond repair. This made it a bit hard with our valentines meal (we had bought steak). We ended up cooking it in a non stick saucepan - but found this a bit of a challenge as there was no spatula for non stick (didnt want to destroy another pan!)

I was unaware of the state of the frying pans as they are always put away in the kitchen cupboards. Had I been aware I would have replaced them straight away, which I have since done so since this review. I pride myself of the cleanliness and upkeep of the cottage, so very disappoint to discover this in a review.
