Myself and my wife stayed one night based on recommendations on this website and have to say all the good things said about this place are true. The place itself is delightful, the rooms excellent, the breakfast excellent, the owners polite and informative and its location only a few minutes walk from the high street is excellent even though you could not credit this due to how quiet it is. Its cost is also extremely competitive. I've not one criticism and we will definitely be staying again.

We spent only one night at Chinthurst as we were leaving for London next day. We had a lovely room, very tastefully decorated. Our host, Hazel, was very accomodating and considerate. Realizing I had an injured leg she quickly suggested a ground floor room might be more suitable for us. She was informative with historical details and routing suggestions.

The breakfast was excellent and the dining room spacious with nice linens and tableware. The house has been beautiful restored with luxurious furnishings, wallpapers, draperies.

We would definitely select Chinthurst as our base on another visit to the Dales (an area we love). It is a short distance to Grassington which is a charming village, and the Dales are beautiful to explore--if a bit challenging to drive. The Skipton Market on the High Street has all sorts of items for sale and many bargains. Much easier to traverse than Portobello Road.

My boyfriend took me to stay at the Chinthurst for my birthday as I really wanted to see what Skipton had to offer and was keen to go to Bolton Abbey and the surrounding attractions.

We stayed in the best room of the B&B which was absolutely beautiful. The bedroom was huge with a lovely four poster bed and antique looking furniture. The bathroom again was huge which a big bath and a separate walk in shower with Molton Brown tolietries. In the room there was a huge folder full of recommendations for local restaurants, information on activities around the area etc which was extremely helpful. We chose from that to eat at the local Greek restaurant (Aeolos) which was so authentic that you felt like you were abroad.

The owners were also extremely helpful and really made sure we enjoyed our stay and were approachable if we had any questions.

The breakfast was delightful and there was something for everyone with fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals, full English, vegetarian breakfast on request and even kippers.

The whole stay was really lovely and I would definitely go back there again.

This is a great B&B. Ultra clean, lovely rooms, with good size beds and a well stocked bathroom. The breakfasts are really good, wide choice and well served. In fact difficult to fault this place. Where else do you find a B&B with hotel like qualities - DVD's in all rooms (and a good well stocked DVD library), tea/coffee, clean and crisp dressing gowns and a wonderfully large shower. There is a very small 'honesty' bar.

I am not too sure what the last reviewer did to upset the host, but we all (three rooms worth) found both the owners to be exceedingly helpful and pleasant

There is plenty of parking available. It is only a few minutes walk to the centre of Skipton where there are some really good restaurants. For anyone staying in this area Chinthurst can be well recommended.

Had 3 nights here with a friend. The rooms were lovely and so was the decor. On arrival we reported dirty bathroom and dressing gowns .This was put right. The third day the room looked like it had been neglected again-bins not emptied, looroll not replenished cups not washed etc.Our room was on the ground floor and it was noisy early am with conversations between early risers and thehost.the hostess was very abrupt and appeared to have no social skills for front of house-everything was a nuisance.I asked directions one day and she was very succint and abrupt. No way to behave in my opinion. If i was paying for 5 star accommadation then i expect to be treated with respect
