I booked a family room for my husband and son for sons birthday. The room was a good size but unfortunately on the front (odd numbered rooms are on the front). Looking at reviews here we probably could have got it changed but Im not very good at asking...
My son commented that the corridors were like a prison and the room doors were like cell doors! The corridors were grey brick which had been painted in the public areas and the hotel could do with carrying this out everywhere. The room doors were bright yellow fire doors.
As I said the room was a good size with flat screen tv, tea coffee and hot chocolate, iron and hair dryer. The beds were on castors and moved around when you sat on them or sat up to read! Very strange.
The bath was very small and the water very slow to come out but clean and warm.
The staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed our breakfasts both mornings in the very scenic restaurants. A vegetarian cooked breakfast would have been very welcome.
Had a nice swim in the good hotel pool and used sauna (steam room out of action)
We had a nice walk into Skipton, about a mile along the canal. Skipton is a lovely town and we will probably come back and despite my negative sounding review would stay at the rendezvous again.More
