We moored our narrow boat down from the Cross Keys for a very welcome break. Even though we were windswept and dressed in casual clothes we were made to feel so welcome. The staff were very busy serving both large and small parties of diners yet did so efficiently and always with a smile. The pudding was one we will remember forever, it was scrumptious. My husband was a little disappointed with his 'burger', he felt it could have been less pricey. I on the other hand had a special, 'no-name chicken breast' I can't remember the rest of the name unfortunately. I would advise any canal users to use the path across the bridge near the livery stables. The other bridge path takes you along a very fast and busy and there is no roadside path.
