Have visited this establishment a few times over the years and always had battered haddock with chips, which have always been fine. On my latest trip there I opted for "battered plaice and chips". BIG mistake! The plaice had not been skinned prior to battering, and the tail of the fillet had small bones still attached. Avoid the plaice and stick to the haddock or cod.

A very wet wintry day, we sought shelter and a warm meal in' Bizzie Lizzies' by the canal.

Very attentive staff who found us a good table to make it easier for me to access as I have mobility problems.
Despite the poor day the cafe was busy. But he service did not suffer. Soon we were served and hot tea and fish and chips served up to us.
The meal looked very good and tasted very good.
the staff were freindly and helpful.

Special discount on fridays for customers and specail discount for pensiopners. This pensioners meal included tea and bread and butter and ice cream and fruit ?
Personally I could not face ices cream after fish and chips .
The portions were good sized and I could not eat all my meal.
'Yes' it wasnt cheap, but these days fish and chips are not cheap and it was good quality.
'Yes' I would go again.
Recomended.
