Me and my family have just came back and we are already loking forward to our next visit. We stayed in the largest detatched cottage and it was perfect. The cottage was very clean and tidy and the rooms were all very comfortable. The views are great and the wildlife was amazing. The pool and childrens play area were all well looked after. Ruth (the owner) is so nice and made us feel very welcome. There is so much to do around the area.

We've just returned home from a week here and it was excellent. The accommodation is clean and well equipped/comfortable with a shared pool and sauna which was great for kids and adults alike. The hosts are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble (even providing a roll of duct tape for a spot repair to a wayward wing mirror which was introduced to one of the local walls.) We booked 2 places for a family meet up and the standard was consistent across both properties.
It's worth taking the path through the fields to the pub in Litton although i wouldn't recommend it on the way back as the ale interferes with the stony surface.
There is a wide range of wildlife about and we took in the 'owl chorus' most evenings with owls on both side of the valley giving an impressive performance. There was also an abundance of butterflies and bees on the plants in the gardens (top marks to the owners who also do this bit) and a noisy hedgehog rootling about too. Golden pheasants and green woodpeckers were also spotted.
Overall a most enjoyable stay, a wonderful place to hang out, use as a base to visit local attractions or walk the local dales.

Room Tip: Spion Cop has 6M wifi. The TV is CRT and could do with replacing with a flatscreen with HDMI for sho...

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your family get together at Stonelands despite your wing mirror encounter with "local wall! - and you are most welcome for the duct tape. It is really nice to know that you all enjoyed seeing the wildlife, especially the "noisy hedgehog."

We have just ordered a new 39" flatscreen TV for the lounge in Spion Cop which is being delivered 21st August 2013. Thank you for your suggestion.

We very much hope to see you again in the near future and would like to thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to write your review.

Best wishes

We had a short break - 3 days at this wonderful collection of cottages set in the most beautiful area. We had stayed here several years ago with our grand-dog Bob, and were pleased to be able to stay in the same cottage and remember a happy time with him although he is now in doggy heaven.

These cottages must be some of the best equiped anywhere, everything is spotlessly clean and you need take nothing other than yourselves. We were welcomed by Ruth who although totally stressed out by a frustrating day on the telephone was absolutley charming. The prime attraction other than the stunning location is the indoor pool and although the weather was extremely hot my husband enjoyed a leisurely swim on all three days. There is so much to see if you are on a touring holiday in this area and, after a long day out, picking up a trout from Kilnsey and some provisions from the Spa shop in Grassington having the facility of making a delicious meal and eating it watching the wildlife outside the window is just perfect.

We hope to return again and not leave it so long next time

Room Tip: These are self-catering cottages built around a courtyard and so they are all in an excellent positi...

Thank you both so much for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your break with us in the sunshine! If only the weather was so kind to us all the time.
It is so nice to hear that you found the cottages well equipped and were able to relax in the pool area and take in some of the sights.
My apologies again, for my stressed day on the phone - (not with any guests, I hasten to add!) but thank you for being so understanding and for taking the time to write such generous comments. We very much hope to see you again in the near future.

Best wishes

Just back from a very short break,( 2 nights), our 2nd visit in 8 months. We have been coming to Stonelands for 17 years so you see how much we love it. We usually stay in Spion Cop, the new suite & bed are great & also lovely new furnishings in the bedroom. Well done Ruth & Mark for keeping up the high standards set by your parents/ parents in law. A kind touch is the biscuits , made I think by Hannah - thank you, they are great. It is the ideal place to unwind, swim, walk & if you don't feel like cooking, the meals in the pub just 15 mins walk away are excellant. Mark & Ruth are on hand if there any problems which are sorted out quickly. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

had a fantastic weekend with 12 friends, both cottages were perfect. Very well equipped and comfortable. Kicthens had everything you could need in them and plenty of space throughout both cottages.
The pool was very clean and warm. And the whole area was very tidy.

We walked to the Queens Arm, 10mins up the road. Very good food and a lovely refurbished pub.

Could not have asked for better cottages, Thank you Ruth and Mark.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are so pleased to hear that you and your friends enjoyed your Easter break with us. We have only just replaced the mattress in Honey Pot so we were delighted that you found the bed "comfy." We are however, very sorry that the skylight over the bed in that property disturbed your sleep and are now addressing this issue. We are having a shutter made for this which will be in place within the next two weeks (end of April 2013) and we very much hope that will be of benefit to future guests. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Guests comments are always much appreciated so thank you for taking the time to review our cottages.
We very much hope to see you again.

Many thanks

We stayed in Tansy Close for the Easter weekend. We stayed with our two children, and our youngest celebrated his 13th birthday the day we arrived! This was our 6th stay at Stonelands and this time we brought our friends with their 3 children aged 11-16. They stayed in Guildersbanks. It was, as always, comfortable, welcoming and friendly. The facilities are great - comfortable beds and furnishings; a well equipped kitchen; a play area and 'football pitch'; and - the piece de resistance - a wonderful pool and sauna. We all had a fabulous time. We loved the homemade welcome biscuits and the relaxed atmosphere, in addition to the fantastic location and the variety of places to visit within a short drive. We will definitely return. Thanks to Mark and Ruth for running such a lovely place!

Room Tip: Tansy Close has a fantastic window at the foot of the bed in the master bedroom. The twin bedded ro...
