The cottage has been renovated to a very standard with lots of original features; our girls loved exploring when we first arrived. The location is perfect for Skipton and we walked along the canal from Buckley to Skipton which was just far enough for the girls. The local pub is lovely and we had a great meal there in front of an open fire. We will definitely come back again.
We stayed at Lutinbell Cottage for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very spacious, clean and full of character.
Cannot fault the property, everything was perfect
Great cottage just outside Skipton and close to the Yorkshire Dales. Lots of character but with modern touches and deceptively spacious. Lovely patio garden leading directly on to canal towpath and walks directly from the cottage. Good local pub with food.
We stayed at Lutinbell Cottage for 3 nights and throughly enjoyed our stay! The cottage is very spacious, clean and full of character. The garden area is a great space to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Access to the canal towpath can be gained by going through the garden gate and by following the canal you can walk to Skipton (about 1 hr and a half) or to the village of Silsden and beyond. Although Kildwick is a small village, there is a pub and the cottage is a 5 minute walk away from a Co-Op and fish and chip restaurant/take-away called The Trawlerman, which was nice and reasonably priced. The cottage has everything you would need - the kitchen in particular is very well equipped. Perhaps the only minor issue is that the living room can get quite cold on an evening (even in August) and the heating is set to a certain temperature, meaning we couldn't just turn it on when desired. Overall, a great cottage and a lovely place to stay and explore the beautiful Yorkshire Dales!
Excellent well appointed cottage large rooms very comfortable place to stay.A very
attractive village with a lovely walk along the canal into Skipton.Lots to do in the local
area including Skipton castle,Bolton abbey,Haworth, and Hebden Bridge.Further afield we went to Ingleton waterfalls and the did the Settle to Carlisle rail trip.Great holiday over way to quick.
Had a lovely stay at Lutinbell Cottage.
Everything we needed.
Cleanliness was paramount.
Lovely touch was the wine & biscuits.
Will definitely recommend.
I fully concur with all the pervious reviews. This is a charming, well-appointed yet quirky cottage in a good location adjacent to the Leeds Liverpool Canal.
For us a bath would also have been nice as low water pressure in the mornings made the shower problematic.
The canal was built into the hillside and the cottage is effectively built into its bank. If you are not good with steps, some of which with lead up into the property and more to gain access to the excellent walled garden and its private gate to the tow path. This may not be the cottage for you.
The village and cottage’s elevated position above the A629 Skipton Road, which is very busy, means the vicinity is susceptible to road noise. But notwithstanding this it’s an excellent base for exploring the Canal (an hour and a half walk along the towpath to Skipton) and Yorkshire Dales. The local amenities are good and the owners have put a lot of thought into making this a comfortable rental property. I would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage or staying again.
