At first I thought it was a little expensive for a petting farm, however it really isn't. The animals all look well cared for and are very good natured. Most of the animals are inside, so if its not a nice day you can still see and touch them. There's loads of other stuff to do to, go karts, ride on tractors, a maze, a play ground, huge wide open space, tractor rides etc.. I cant comment on the food because we took a picnic which we ate outside with the glorious view. (There are also picnic benches inside too!)
Its suitable for children of all ages, and safety is the farms main concern, there are plenty of hand washing sinks throughout the farm. All the staff were helpful and friendly too.

We love Hesketh it never fails to disappoint, i've just taken my family it was my daughters 2nd birthday, theres so much to see and do, lots of hands on experiences with animals and you get to feed them too, great indoors as well as outdoors, so still a lovely place to go even in the rain, its a farm geared for all ages with outdoor pedal carts for the older kids and adults and indoor ride on tractors for toddlers and primary age children, it has a little straw maze, play areas indoor and out and picnic areas. Lovely friendly helpful staff make you feel welcome and we've always had a nice pleasant visit when been, we will go again as it is value for money and a fab local attraction, you can work the price so it fits your family, we paid for a family ticket of 2 adults 2 children for £20 and then added on our 2 yr old separately at £2.50 this worked out cheaper for us, £22.50 is very reasonable for a family day out I think, we ususally take our own picnic as well as the food and drink is quite expensive, we've not had the experience of the tractor with trailer ride as yet as been unlucky each time and hasn't been on, however one day we will catch a break and get on it, and hasn't put us off at all because theres so much to do anyway and we love to walk around the outdoor pens and take in the views with or without a tractor ride :)

Just great, the children could pet the small animals, feed the pigs and have a brill time in the play area. Our two 2 year old boys just loved the ride on tractors best. It was hard to get them out of the place. Liked that we could take our own food. We will be back but I will check the website 1st as we went this Tuesday and it was closed. Lots of people turning round and lots of disappointed children :(

On a lovely day there was lots of things for the grandchildren to do. They loved the animals and the playgrounds, both inside and out. A great way to pass a few hours for only £5pp.

Hesketh farm is fab! The staff are friendly and helpful. It is clean, well organised and fun.The animals seem happy, healthy and well cared for. It is excellent value for money. You are able to take your own picnic if you want to, however there is a well stocked, cheap cafe there for you to buy food from.
We have visited the farm on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. In fact the last time we visited we missed the last tractor ride. However Farmer Chris realised that the children were upset and did an extra trip so that we did not miss out.
I would definitely recommend Hesketh Farm for a lovely day out.
