Visited the farm today with my husband and 3 children aged 7,5&1 - we loved it :) great hands on experiences for the children - feeding times are great specially with the little lambs. Lots to do inside and out x

We enjoyed our trip here but there was not enough to do for a full day here. The play area was great and the go karts great fun we enjoyed the safari and petting all the animals we got to feed and touch themwe all had a great time just wished there was a little more to do! Seemed confined to one area!

I visited with my grandchildren aged 3 and 7 on several occasions this year and previous years. Farmer Chris adds something new every year and this farm park is excellent value for money. The main attractions are, of course, the animals and there are lots of opportunities for handling and feeding the animals and lots of information about them in the barn which my 7 year old granddaughter finds fascinating. Apart from the animals in the barn, there is a straw maze, a large sand pit and mini tractors for under 8s to ride on. The toilet facilities are good and there are baby changing areas . Larger tractors are outdoors for older children and there are climbing frames slides, swings etc and lot of space to run around and have fun. The barn also provides indoor picnic tables and drinks, sandwiches and homemade cakes at very reasonable prices. However, you can take your own food and drink to eat indoors making it an affordable attraction for everyone. Outdoors there are other animals to feed, donkeys, sheep and hens, not to mention egg collecting. Queenie the shire horse is a great favourite with my grandchildren (and me!) who love to feed this gentle giant. Giant tortoises wander freely around the barn and outdoor area and are fascinating for the children. On a warm day, We can easily spend a day here and even when it is cold or wet, there is still plenty to do indoors. Once we have paid our entrance fee, there are no hidden extras and you can add a tractor ride around the farm for £1 a head where Farmer Chris explains what is happening on the farm at that time. We have also had children's parties here which are great value and well organised. I can really recommend Hesketh Farm for a great day out with children which provides value for money.
