If you're visiting the Cambridge area this lovely English pub is within half an hr of the County Town and this is a pub well worth a visit. Gordon could not have been more helpful and he loves his pub 'The Racehorse'.
We stayed a couple of nights in the fairly newly completed barn-conversion in 'The Hayloft'. A quite spacious and comfortable double room with Jacuzzi. At £65 per night this was superb. No Wi-Fi in the bedroom but availabile downstairs in the pub. Views across the beautiful countryside, swallows busy and local walks from the door.
The pub itself had local customers; visitors from further afield (we were from Yorkshire) and Americans. We ate there one night - I had prawn curry tangliatelle and my friend a pea and mint risotto. Good prices and good quality.
Attached to the pub is a Coffee House with cakes and pleasant space to relax.
We both felt that 'The Racehorse' was a hidden gem and will certainly return.
