“Cromwell Museum”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

This museum contains many artifacts, documents, paintings, possessions in such a small place. It has plenty of information and is useful if you are studying Cromwell. I would recommend to those who enjoy their history, those who know little or nothing about Cromwell but most of all those who are specifically interested in Cromwell but there will be some people who may find little of interest.

“Full of fascinating Cromwellian artefacts..”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

The Cromwell museum, although compact, is full of fascinating Cromwellian artwork, artefacts and documents. It will leave you with a good knowledge and understanding about arguably the most controversial character in British history. The museum also has a range of academic books on Cromwell, perfect for those who want to do further research. The museum’s curator is really welcoming and helpful in explaining Cromwellian history; his passion for the subject is clear. It is such an interesting place to visit - I recommend it to all.

“A Quite Interesting Collection”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

I found the museum to be quite educational as I was able to put Cromwell's life together quite nicely, explaining details with accurate information. The museum was quite small considering what other museum sizes are like but nevertheless, the staff members were well informed of their history knowledge and helped answer our questions when we asked. As part of the museum visit, we were able to go to the library to see some of the Cromwell achieves such as the baptise certificate and attempting to transcribe a letter which Cromwell wrote to his daughter. Overall, it was quite a lovely trip, full of plenty of information and never a boring moment and a place worth visiting.

“Interesting”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Though small, this museum was really interesting, with some very old artifacts that were well worth seeing. The staff were helpful, passionate and knowledgeable about the subject, and the archives centre in the nearby library contained further primary sources. A must see for any history lovers and students.

“A small museum full of facts...”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

The Oliver Cromwell museum is a museum located in a building where Cromwell himself was schooled. The building contains relevant and accurate documentation taken from the 17th century and provides a good understanding of the life of Cromwell. The museum provides information of his childhood through to his death and was a great place to improve knowledge needed for my A-level history course- I would defiantly recommend it to other students studying Cromwell. The museum is also a great place for those who are interested in British history. The museum is catered for the young and old and is a great place to visit. The museum lies in the heart of Cromwell's personal history and artefacts can be found at the local library- something I would also suggest as a place to visit.
