“Bike ride to Grafham Water”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

One night when looking at Google Earth of my home village of Brill just outside Bicester i noticed a large mass of water to the North East of my location which look very interesting,so a few days later i got on my push bike and rode out to Grafham water and it was well worth the effort.
Has a great cycle route around the perimeter which i did when i arrived then i had a quick coffee and bun followed by about 30 mins watching the dingy racing it was sunny and lots of people were around enjoying the fresh air. After being there an hour i set of for my cycle home finishing with about 135 miles on the GPS yes it was along ride but was worth every second.

“Excellent”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Whether you want to take part in Water sports, cycle or simply walk by this lovely reservoir or just sit in the restaurant and wait for your friends to return, this is the place to be. Inexpensive all-day parking. Interesting water conservation tips and small shop are found in the restaurant which serves hot food all day.

“Fishing and algae at Grapham Water”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Spent the last few days at Grapham water at the Caravan Club site. Bought a fly fishing permit and tried bank fishing. The algae on the water made it almost impossible to fish. The Fishing Lodge made no mention of this when selling me the ticket to bank fly fish. I noticed both blue and green algae and could not believe my eyes when I saw a woman swimming in it at the north dam visitors centre. There is however plenty of notices at the points of access warning of the algae problem.Blue algae is very dangerous to fishermen particularly if you prick yourself with a fish hook that as been in the water and draw blood. Fishermen beware!

“Great, accessible outdoor venue for all the family”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

If you park near the visitor centre, which we did, the lakeside cycle track makes an excellent, visually varied outing for recreational cyclists. It is even made accessible to the very youngest members of the outward bound family with hire bikes available with pull along buggies or easy-ride tandems. Really good toileting, café and bike hire facilities, (the mechanics even tweaked my folding bike for no charge :) ) We had an excellent 1.30hrs gentle but feel good cycling and are planning to return next year with non-cycling buddies who are excited to share our happy, healthy experience.
