“Big step up from pub grub”
Reviewed July 4, 2012

Shopping in Newry en route from Belfast to Cavan and tried this place out. Food was super, a big step up from regular pub grub, and the kids loved it. Try the sole for something a bit different.

“Finally good food in Newry”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Went here on Saturday night after hearing about the new menu. There was a group of 6.

The atmosphere in the bar when you walk in is great - full of friendly locals and the staff were friendly.

The restaurant is tucked up behind the bar on several levels and the new menu was great. Newry has been crying out for decent bistro food for a long time. Between us we had mussel, a smoked chicken and avocado tian, hearty veg soup for starters. I had amazing duck with asian veg and sweet potato mash, others had superbly cooked steaks. Everything was presented with nice touches.

Great place.

“Fabulous Food in a Cosy Environment”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Great food served up in a very traditional bar, in the heart of Newry City. Don't expect a modern day restaurant - this places oozes character and atmosphere, all of which add to the "Bridge" experience. The menu is so varied, your only problem will be deciding what to have. And the food is delicious ! Great kids menu as well (not the usual stuff churned out in so many places). This has to be one of Newry's hidden gems.
