“Great location overpriced”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Good room and breakfast excellent facilities for a hotel in a town this size. But definitely overpriced room. Staff were friendly. Good parking and amenities in the hotel were a good standard. An excellent location in the centre of town. Bar staff were very pleasant bathrooms were all clean and tidy.

This is now my 2nd visit to the hotel with a 3rd one booked. From the moment you walk through the main door your greeted with a friendly warm smile. The staff are a credit to the hospitality industry no matter what time you phone reception or what you ask for its not a problem. If anyone is looking for a friendly warm comfortable hotel this is it and its all thanks to the staff

My wife and I stayed here for a wee break on 8th March 2013. We got the deal Spring Break B&B plus evening meal. The room was a good size with Tea, coffee etc. It had a flat screen TV, Iron & board & Temp controls. An Excellent King size bed which was very comfy.
The evening meal was a 4 course belly buster which was very tasty also mussel starter was delicious & the Sirlion steak main cooked beautifully. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice continental style plus a cooked breakfast to your liking.
The Hotel is just a short walk to all the shopping centres the Buttercrane, Quays and Newry City itself which has some great wee shops.
For a few drinks and cocktails that night we srolleed over the bridge to a nice we bar call The Cobbles which has a guy singing live and they served some nice cocktails. For the last drink we finished off in the Hotel bar which had a band playing some Traditional music which was good to hear.
This is our second time staying here and it will not be our last.

Stayed overnight on 6th March for combination business/pleasure. If anything the Hotel has got even better since my last visit. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Room was excellent, plenty of space and very, very comfortable. Room service order for supper was prompt and the food was excellent. Many thanks to all concerned.
One note of caution, though. When I booked the room at short notice the website was not very clear that the stated price was per person with a minimum of 2 persons. I thought I was getting a special offer but ended up being charged double the amount.
However, as my title suggests, it was worth it.

We stayed here over the weekend. We were 3, me, OH and my nephew. It was a great stay and a great hotel.
It was really busy when we arrived and we couldn't park in the carpark. We've never been to Newry before, so hadn't a clue where to go, I ran into hotel and asked - we hadn't even checked in at this stage! I got simple directions to a carpark nearby until the conference was over that was taking up all the spaces!
Check-in was so easy.
Over the course of the day, we asked for directions and recommendations and each time the replies were friendly and very accurate!
My nephew went to the pool, I sat at the side! It seemed a lovely area and he certainly enjoyed it.
We ate at nearby Spiceworks as a recommendation from reception and it was really good.
Breakfast was lovely, plenty choice and the cooked food was really good - I had scrambled eggs on toast, the other 2 had a very large Ulster fry - probably overly large for my nephew.
The rooms were very nice. For our preference, the bed was overly soft, but that's very much a personal thing. It was a quad room and would comfortably have taken another person. The bathroom was lovely, adequate supply of towels etc - not always the case in a > 2 room! Again on a personal preference, I don't like shower curtains, but this one worked perfectly well, no water on floor afterwards and it wasn't blowing in against me sticking to me! The shower was nicely powerful and very easily regulated.
There was very loud music in the bar at night and it wasn't necessarily somewhere to have a quiet drink after dinner. But we took our drinks out to the foyer and that was really nice. For a bar that was incredibily busy, service at the bar was surprisingly fast.
All in all, lovely stay. And perfect directions to the GAA pitch as we checked out.

Definitely will return soon to try out their spa facilities. Very busy hotel, lots going on and staff seem to cope really well, reception staff extremely pleasant and helpful.
