“Peaceful retreat, fantastic hot tub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2009

Just got back from a 4 night stay at belan bach lodges. The lodges are set in beautiful peaceful surroundings. lodges are well equipped with everything you need. We stayed in Celyn 1 with myself, husband a 2 boys aged 12 and 15, this was quite a small lodge but ok for a few nights any longer and we would have needed a bigger lodge. I wouldn't reccommend using the oven in the lodge as this takes ages to heat up and even then doesn't reach a high enough temperature to cook anyting and we ended up after an hour finishing off by grilling, the hob works fine though. i would recommend you take and food you need with you as you are away from anywhere which is the beaty of the place and then you can just relax.
the surronding area is great for and active holiday should you want one, we cycled round lake vyrnwy on 2 days(once in the pouring rain, which was fab) and almost got to the top of Cadair Idris before the wind forced us back.
All in all an enjoyable stay which was made even more enjoyable by the hot tub which I wouldn't have been without.

Just returned from Belan Bach which was ooked through Hoseaseasons. The lodges are amazing and exceptionally clean and comfortable.Hot Tub over looking the valleys is amazing and a real bonus! Very, very quiet with no shops other than usual village stores. Had a day trip to Welshpool which we did in less than half a day as not much there other than the supermarkets. (Morrisons & Sainsbury's). Barmouth is a nice run about an hour away. The best thing of our stay was the complete peace and quiet with the lodge being really comfortable having Sky is a plus as is the Wi fi although having paid nearly £500 for 4 days I feel it's a bit much asking for £15 (4 nights) for Wi Fi. The lodges need a little touching up on the outside as the balcony / decking area could do with a lick of varnish. Having said that, they are really well maintained and vey modern with everything you could need. (even down to the dishwasher tablets!!)

Just returned from a weekend at belan bach. Lodge was lovely, kitchen was modern with everything you need. Good location for snowdonia national park, only an hour to coast - plenty to see and do, a weekend wasn't enough! Hot tub was fantastic, and the view was great:) Would definitely go back!!

Just returned from spending the easter weekend in the Dyfnant Lodge, Belan Bach. Have to say that even though the weather was not the best, everything about this place was beautiful and made us forget the weather outside. It's very scenic, peaceful and cosy. Perfect place if you want to get away from all the city noises.

It's sat on the top of a mountain area next to a large sheep farm. There is a tv with sky channels (incl sky sports which was a big bonus!), dvd player, fireplace, hot tub on the deck (can fit up to 6), all kitchen utensils (although you probably want to walk with an extra cutting knife (for meat) and a grater for cheese, etc - if you're picky!), all linens except for towels, 3 bedrooms (2 twin, 1 double) and 2 baths, parking for 2/3 cars and beautiful views. There are supermarkets in nearby Welshpool (Sainsburys) - about 25 minutes drive.

Dynant Lodge is one of the larger lodges and takes up to 6 people. It cost us about £670 for 4 people for the easter weekend (thursday - check in at 4pm to monday - check out at 10 am). I imagine it's cheaper at off-peak times.

We took an hour's drive down to Aberystwyth (seaside) and had dinner on the royal pier in the Brassiere. The food was delish and reasonably price - for the 4 of us the total bill including starter and drinks came up to about £80 (£20 per head). The night life was very good in this town as well. We are all in our mid to late 20's and so headed down to the Wine Bar next to the marina. There were many traditional pubs around as well. We were told that the Inn is open all weekend and closes at 3 am on monday morning!

The drive to Belan Bachs was very long from London - took us 7 hours to get there (thursday easter traffic) and 5 hours to return (very little traffic coming back).

I will certainly return to Belan Bachs and highly recommend it.

  • Liked — The comfortable accomodation especially the hot tub
  • Disliked — Can't say I disliked anything about it

Have just returned from a week in a Belan Bach pine lodge, in Llangadfan. Despite it being February, we were able to take full advantage of the hot-tub and enjoyed sitting in the steamy water looking at the superb views.Very friendly locals and beautiful scenery. What more could you want?!

Visited Belan Bach Lodges llangadfan,Welshpool for a couple of nights over Easter Weekend. What a find! Beautifully decorated and the lodges even had hot tubs............ fantastic ( although the welsh weather is not quite hot enough for the hot tubbing yet). Beautiful views. The owners were very helpful and had a wealth of local knowledge. I can recomend these lodges if you want a 'get away from it all break' although within easy distance of Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Telford etc.

Enjoy the hidden treasure if you are in the Welshpool area.
