“Fantastic stay in an amazing place!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We just got back from our stay at le Manoir Equivocal. The place is beautiful and has very tasteful interior design on amazing grounds.
Our whole family of 5 stayed in the dovecote, our kids really wanted to stay in there and Irene made the effort to accommodate us all and made up extra beds for the 5 of us!
We were greatly welcomed and Irene helped us to reserve a table at a nearby restaurant where we had great food and wine in the evening.
We lit some candles once back and the dovecote was ever so cosy. It is set apart from the manor so has it's own privacy. It would be amazing for a romantic weekend away or honeymoon. We were also very welcomed (had our own key) in to the Manor were we could relax in front of the open fire.
The breakfast was possible the best we have ever had in a hotel/ /B&B, fresh boiled local eggs, pancakes, fresh croissants and freshly baked bread, lovely yogurt with fresh fruits to name a few, organic and a lot home produced all enjoyed in front of the open fire!
We asked Irene if we could see the rest of the manor, the big room in the main house was also really beautiful and she also has a self catering cottage which takes 12 people!
The kids loved the grounds which has a flower maze and swings set in a safe surrounding of fields.
We will definitely be back on our next trip to UK!

Room Tip: Dovecote if you want a cosy romantic stay!

We went together as a group of friends to the manoir equivocal for a weekend of outrageous gastronomy and wine tasting, this experience would not have been the same without the charm of our accommodation at the manoir equivocal. Very reasonably priced, ideally located and with Varied and unusual interior design for the pigeon tower or the manor rooms we were all amazed by the creativity and charm this place had in store.
The owners do everything themselves and are trying to integrate the manner into an artistic project so please be understanding and consider this a proper 'guest' house where you are being welcomed in the best manner possible but that the operation is fairly new for the owners.

Definitely not my last stay there

Room Tip: Couples choose the pigeon tower

on our cycling tour through burgundy we thought we would give this place a try. slightly off the main tourist route, but well worth it. The property itself is a fantastic old building ( heritage listed I believe) plus our hosts were excellent and looked after us well. in particular we could not find any shops or supermarkets open on the Sunday we stayed here, and although they do not have a restaurant managed to provide us some basic provisions. wished we could have stayed longer.

This place was simply amazing. There is just something magical about both Le Manoir Equivocal and the lovely, welcoming hostess, Irene. My boyfriend and I drove down from Paris and found the manoir with no issues. The grounds and buildings are absolutely breathtaking, and the interior architecture/decor was stunning, charming, and creative. We were greeted by Irene, who was warm and welcoming, and shown our room in the dovecoat. Wow! Neither have us had ever seen anything like it, and it was quite simply impressive. There is an obvious attention to detail in each bit of the renovation of the manoir and the care Irene takes with her guests.

Irene made us a delicious breakfast the three mornings that we were there, which left us full and satisfied (and they were some of the best breakfasts we had in France, actually). When telling her the plans we had for a day, she got out a map and identified cool stops along the way and provided a bit of background for each one. Beyond that, she always made sure to ask how everything was going, if we needed anything, and if she could assist us in any way (making reservations, recommendations for wineries, etc) without being the least bit overbearing.

All in all, the manoir has everything anyone could want in a bed and breakfast in Bourgogne (and goes truly above and beyond, in our opinion). Beautiful, unique, and clean accommodations, a wonderful central location to Beaune and Dijon and close to numerous great restaurants, wineries, and sites, its' own small wine list (which I wish we had taken advantage of!), a very relaxing atmosphere, and a hostess who is simply great at what she does and is lovely to converse with (and I wish we could have gotten to chat more!). Almost as soon as we left, we began talking about making another trip in the (hopefully!) near future.

Our stay at Le Manoir Equivocal was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of our trip to France.

Room Tip: Staying in the dovecoat was a surreal and amazing experience!

Lovely castle with medieval surroundings, inside absolutely beautiful.
Walking through the aged wooded door to acres of wild flowers was magical.
Irene the hostess, is a lovely person, fixed a wonderful stylish breakfast. Peaceful surroundings, close to lovely historical villages and vineyards.
Memorable stay, recommend Manoir Equivocal highly.
Will be back again someday. Merci Irene!

We had a perfect stay in Le Manoir Equivocal. The Chateau is situated in the middle of the countryside, very quiet and beautiful, but also close to Beaune, Dijon and the Bourgogne vineyards. Irene, the host, is very charming and loves to take care of her guests. The room was enormously big, very clean and with a fantastic bed. Breakfast is served in the common eating place but you have all privacy to enjoy it as you wish. Irene serves you the breakfast at the table in a very discrete, but warm way. Breakfast itself was splendid, as was our whole stay at the Chateau.
