A marvellous dinner once again at Fins.
The choice of fresh seafood is amazing - and all locally caught. Great choice mussels, lobster, prawns, scallops and much much more. Varied menu. Non fish eaters can have enjoy a steak, stroganoff etc Excellent service as usual and well priced.
Bring your own bottle is great - only a £3 corkage charge
A great dining experience in this small but cosy restaurant - two miles south of Largs.
Well done !!

Enjoyed lunch here on a very miserable day. The trio of smoked salmon starter was simple but delicious, as was the halibut and squat lobster cooked in a Chardonnay sauce. The fish and chips were a little bit greasy and would have benefited from more than a spoonful of mushy peas but the fish was perfectly cooked. The restaurant itself was not quite warm enough for me but the staff were pleasant and the service excellent. The cookshop was closed (on a Saturday!) which was a disappointment but the smokehouse was open and well stocked.

Wonderful seafood dinner at reasonable price. The shared tapas starter was excellent and the main course was also excellent.

Bring you own wine allows me to bring my favourite and just pay a modest corkage.

I last visited this restaurant about 10 years ago and was dissapointed. I'm pleased I revisited it again now and will return.

This small restaurant is just south of Fairlie on the coast Road to West Kilbride and has a shop as well as the restaurant. Probably came in the wrong entrance and ended up parking around the back but a short pleasant stroll takes you to the conservatory style entrance where there are a few tables as well as through into the main dining room where there are only a half dozen tables. The waitress explained that they didn't have a license for alcohol but the adjacent shop sold wines and beers, so a nice chilled bottle was procured. This is much more reasonable than paying twice as much as most restaurants. The waitress was very friendly and efficient and the food superb. A complimentary bottle of water was provided and the Cod in breadcrumbs with hand cut chips was well presented and absolutely fabulous. This is the best fish I have tasted for years. My wife's lemon sole with vegetables and lemon butter was also first class, the service was excellent and the bill was around £30 with the wine extra. A lovely place to eat and we will be back.
