“Cheated by false advertising and excessive cost for an unsafe park”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

This is the worst park experience we've had yet in the UK.

Attracted by adverts of Wizard's weekend in a magic castle, we were shocked to be charged £28 for our family of five to walk around a delapidated park with the 'Castle' being a run down private house we cant even enter!!

Worst still was the 'secret garden' the centrepiece of which was a tatty and unsafe forest park experience replete with piles of rubbish next to where families were struggling to have a picnic day out.

Star of the show was the courtyard facing a dump yard for CAR EXHAUST PIPES AND ENGINE PARTS!!

Coming from NZ, we were thrilled to see a museum housing NZ Maori treasures, celebrating a rich story of Glasgow NZ history, but again badly let down by puddles of water open on the floor - without any warning signs for kids safety - and a clearly rotting substructure, unworthly of the treasures left rotting in the rain.

As I talked to other families visiting for the weekend I only felt more sorry for the family charged £50 for the same sorry sad experience.

“needs a overhaul”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

lovely locaton with lovely views.really needs a good makeover with more pleasant and cleaner looking staff.alot of attention is needed in the forrest walk paths as they are rather unsafe, with alot of fallen trees blocking the paths.alot of unused bulidings not in use that could be put to good use.went into what they called the cartoon exibution only to find rabbits and gerbils and nothing to do with cartoons.feel that they could open the castle to vistors instead of begining greeted with PRIVATE signs all over it plus the castle its self needs an overhaul with its broken winds, blinds and doors.to be honest for what they charge you dont get your moneys worth and really, really needs someone to come in and give it good overhaul and more friendly staff.especacally in the tickets offfice as the lady was too busy answering a txt message than serving me.b the only good thing about it was my 2 dogs enjoyed it

“Missed potential”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful location, wonderful views but really needs a make over. The staff look like they've just crawled out of bed. Too many off putting "Private" signs when more welcoming "Visitors this way" would be better. The buildings are all called "Old this" and "Old that" when "Tired" might be more appropriate. Needs someone to come in to improve customer service, improve the catering, give it a lick of paint and generally spruce up the place. See Mugdock Country Park as a good example of how it should be done. This is a massive asset for North Ayshire, I'm heartbroken to see the dilapidated state it is in.

“Good family day out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

We visited on Easter weekend and had a great day. Plenty of things to keep our 7 year old son (and us) entertained. Ranging from a duck race to easter egg hunt to pony trecking and falconry. The only disappointment being the fact that there was no access to the castle itself (I think it's only accessible in the summer months). Walks were good, gardens (areas you could enter) were lovely. I got the feeling it was all a little run down in places and some areas felt like H&S would have a coronary (unguarded walks with steep banks etc) but wasn't an issue to us. The chance for our son to have his first pony ride for just a couple of pound was great and he loved it.

Highlight of the visit was probably the Secret Garden/Forest which was again a little run down but none the less a lot of fun and was like the tardis in terms of how big it seemed to be once you were inside.
