Visited this place for dinner with my family. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. There was LOADS of choice of food from the menu and the service was fast. The portions were big and the food was delicious. We would visit again if we were in the area.

Great food and a great northern pint. Staff all very helpful and aim to please. Good value. Set in an easy access position near the M6. Its a Jolly cheerful atmosphere. Close to the lake district. Stay in the hotel or nearby lodges.

We were a party of four and stayed in one of the two bedroom cottages which were very comfortable. Adjacent to the picturesque Marina, and within easy reach of Carnforth for provisions. Every facility provided even a disability chair in the shower. Will certainly return to explore the Lakes more.

Room Tip: We stayed in cottage 5 but think that all cottages would be the same.

Came here visiting family, really liked the look of the place and the location which is fab! However we had lunch in the bar with family and it all went downhill from there! The food isn't great, infact quite mediocre with inconsistent portion sizes, some dishes were cold by the time they reached us, we had over an hours wait between starters and mains despite there only being one other table eating at the same time! Overall we found the food very overpriced, it was almost like the chef was off and someone who didn't really know what they were doing was having a go, as I wouldn't like to believe that the meals we received were produced by an actual chef.
The biggest disappointment was the service by the staff, found them cold, unwelcoming and quite put out when we dared to ask them for something, astonished to overhear an entire conversation by two ladies behind the bar slating one of their colleagues in front of customers, absolutely disgusting!
Overall very disappointing and such a shame as on the surface the place looks fantastic, management really need to iron out these issues because this place could be fantastic!

Stayed here with my husband last night and we both had the best sleep we've had in ages!!!

The bed was comfy, temperature was just right and the bed linen was lovely and fresh.

Really lovely decor - the room was small but well laid out and comfortable for two people. Nice fluffy towels and gorgeous local smellies!!

The room was spotless too.

The motorway is quite close but it didn't hamper out sleep.

Only regret is that we didn't try out the dinner the previous night! Will def come back!!
