Luca’s Village tavern is a little hard to find, (the local planners won’t let him put up his sign) and until he opens the gates at 7 – 7.30 there isn’t much to see other than his car park but the food they prepare is well worth the hunt.

We first went here just for a drink as the local bar closes at 9pm on the weekend (8pm during the week!) and oh what a lovely setting. Situated in an old farm the buildings have been restored and the courtyard was where most of the action was happening. Beautiful lighting and table clothes made this a lovely outdoor location to sit and have a drink and chat. We decided we would be back for food another night.

When we went to eat we couldn’t decide what to have so went for the meze, (you get to taste everything that way) and it was all good, lovely side dishes, good meat off the BBQ and timely service. We couldn’t fault anything we had other than there was too much of it.
Once finished (we thought) a few deserts appeared, again beautiful, and sweet. All this for 40 Euros including a bottle of wine and of water.

We did go back on our last night, and due to wee shower the tables had mostly been moved inside. Again a lovely restoration of the farm buildings provided a romantic setting for our last night in Paphos.

The Taverna is well used by both local and ex-pats in the area. This is understandable as the food is excellent and the service attentive. Cypriots eat late (latest table we saw occupied started at 9.45pm!) but with a lovely setting such as this and a friendly staff I understand why people would go back, if we have the chance we will!
