I mean really. It allows you to stroll along the beach, the ocean. You can look at the moon, the sea...you can smell the moon, the sea...okay, hopefully only the latter. If the former, please get offline. Immediately. ;)

It's too bad this place looks so run down. Melecon's are usually filled with nice restaurants, shops, bars, etc.
This place was sad looking

A pleasant walk-about on any day. Stop and sit and relax to the rhythm of the sea without stepping on the sand. Beautiful sunsets.

Everyone we met from tourists to locals was super nice. There are a few restaurants across from the walkway but all are basic American bar food type places. Nothing authentic (but there will be one opening soon above the real estate office beside the clothes shop).

Walk down the steps to the beach to find a shipwreck. Walk down the concrete pier (carefully!) and jump off then swim across to the island with the other shipwreck. Takes about 15 minutes. Bonus is that you only have to swim half way and then it is shallow enough to walk the rest of the way.

Stay at the Lazy Hostel. It is fabulous and $25 per night! Really comfy beds and cute common area. $20 cash towel deposit. Showers are decent but not much water pressure. Staff is super friendly. The bar closes at midnight which kinda took us by surprise.

The Malecon was small, but made you feel like you were definitely on island time! Great views to stroll along the water and eat some local foods.
