The Malecon is a small boardwalk. A lot of businesses along the Malecon are situated in this area. Wish the Malecon was longer;)

Government is trying to make some changes, but for now, this place is not a good place to visit. Lots of restaurants around, but not recommend Malecon itself

Really, if you go to the Esperanza side you can't help winding up here. There are several restaurants and hotels overlooking this 2 block area of development.

If you're in "downtown" (ha ha!) Esperanza, it's hard to miss the lovely malecon. Great for a sunset stroll.

Don't miss the Vieques Conservation and Historical Trust! (home to the the world's smallest aquarium) It's a gem. Also enjoyed visiting with a few shop keepers who were really friendly. Restaurants and the area generally seemed inviting, except traffic can get really congested at night, and people had littered the beach with trash and broken beer bottles. Pretty sad.
