Lovely one night stay - Room was quite quirky But that added to the attraction. Breakfast service was a bit slow but nevertheless delicious!

Can't seem to take details off regarding pool & fitness - sorry there are neither !!!

We eat here regularly (haven't stayed in the rooms though as it's close to home) and we always enjoy the imaginative specials menu. The quality of the food is very good, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the building is quaint and comfortable. Although it's a 20 minute drive for us to get here, we happily do this regularly (passing hundreds of other restaurant/pubs) to get here for our Friday night treat.

Stayed here in room 6 as it had a 'drench shower', it doesn't. The shower was over the bath but the head didn't work... Which they knew about but didn't put us in a different room! On the whole though the room was pleasant and clean, poor tv reception though and only 4 channels. the point made earlier regarding privacy in the bathrooms is spot on, there isn't any, new couples beware!
The food was really good, both breakfast and dinner and the service was friendly and not too pushy. We ate at 1830 on a Friday night and thus qualified for the 2 course fixed price menu, which was excellent value too.
Our sleep was hampered by several things: it's on a busy road, lots of people talking when leaving the pub, single glazing and a shop alarm went off for 30 minutes at 0030 in the morning! We thought it would be more rural than it was.

Room Tip: Room 6 was on the top floor and overlooked the town / main road, I'd avoid this if possible.

This is a review of the restaurant not the hotel. My wife and I keep coming back to the Wellington, we have taken parents, friends and just been by ourselves for a quiet dinner. The wellington is a great 'rustic' setting and the food is always excellent. Whether you want a hearty burger or some superb fresh fish the Wellington has never dissapointed us.

They dont take bookings and in the past that has led to us waiting but never any more than 10 minutes.

If I were to complain about one thing it is that the main menu rarely seems to change. They do have a wide variety of specials which I suppose counters this slightly but it would just feel nicer to freshen up the menu every now and then

Stayed here with with wife and group of friends attending local wedding.
2 nights stay
Room was a cosy, fun & quirky mixture of modern and traditional design.
Bar restaurant cool with all staff offering a fast efficient service for such a busy venue.
Both evening meal and breakfast were superb!!
Needless to say
Top marks and well done to all Wellington Hotel Welwyn.
We will return soon.

Room Tip: Just relax and enjoy. Not many places this good.

Refurbished after a fire, this is a nice place to eat, although some for the tables are placed in an awkward way. Nice ambience, usually efficient service and a good selection of wines. Fillet steak excellent, Vegetarian options not so good and pasta dishes so so. Starters great though, albeit slightly pricey. Cannot book, but if you go around 6 to 7 pm no problem getting seated. Suspect not quite as easy later on. Plentiful parking in Welwyn (village not WGC). Recommended for a slightly special night out.

We stayed here as a family (2 adults and 3 grown up children) and could not have been made more welcome. Our arrival was very relaxed, our rooms beautiful. The bar was a buzzing refuge and the evening meal we all enjoyed was superb! Stay here if you can.
