“Fabulous Stay”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

I stayed two nights at The Hill Cottage for a business trip. I felt so at home. The owner Gillian was a superb host, finding that fine balance of being un-intrusive, yet freely available to help. The facilities offered were superb and of a very high standard. It is clear a lot of TLC and thought has been put into the deco of Hill Cottage which results in very comfortable surroundings topped off with beautiful views of the surrounding rolling hills. Thank you Gillian for a lovely stay!

We had a seven night stay here while touring N.T properties in the area. We were made to feel very welcome and at home in the beautifully kept property and garden. Nothing was too much trouble. We were offered a varied selection for breakfast and the cooked option was cooked and presented perfectly. We had a brilliant time made more so by the hosts. We would highly recommend this B&B.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here only for one night for a short getaway to celebrate our 3rd anniversary, and it was perfect! The owners of the b&b made us both feel ever so welcome and were very helpful with suggestions and recommendations for places to visit and where to park etc. The room was gorgeous, with a lovely little en suite. The garden was beautifully maintained with bright flowers scattered around. Breakfast was perfectly cooked too with plenty of options. Would love to visit again!

You are most kind. Your break, minus children, obviously meant a lot to you so Paul and I were pleased to be part of making it a worthwhile experience.
Thanks for taking time to post your review.

My boyfriend brought me here for a surprise night away, what a lovely surprise! We were welcomed with tea and coffee on the seating area in the beautiful garden. The room was lovely and homely & the surroundings were beautiful. I would recommend this B&B to anyone

Charlie and Gillian were exceedingly cordial hosts in this country B&B very near to Stratford. Paul not only carried our heavier bags up the narrow stairs, he even washed our car while he was washing his! The house and grounds were much above the usual B&B standard. Our room and bath were average for a B&B, but very quiet with a nice balcony view over the fine gardens. Full English breakfast in the nice dining room was excellent. Getting in and out of the narrow gateposted parking court was challenging for this American driver, but the convenience and thrift of a rural location so near to the summer home of the Royal Shakespeare Company were a major plus. While here we also visited the fabled Warwick Castle nearby. Since we saw it last in the seventies, it has been sold to the Madame Tussaud Group, who have transformed this formerly evocative landmark into a noisy, vulgar, congested Disneyland, not to mention quite expensive. We hated it and wish we had stayed away, but small children would like it. Grown-ups will enjoy the summer Shakespeare at the RSC – it doesn’t get any better that that.

Shame about your Warwick Castle experience but we hope you have posted your views on their website, which would be more appropriate.

We spent two nights here, Paul was very welcoming on our arrival and showed us round his beautiful home. Gillian has made the garden a site to behold, so picturesque and a riot of colour. The bed was very comfortable and they made up a little mattress for our daughter as well. Breakfast was very nice too and a very reasonable tariff for such a beautiful B&B. cannot recommend thismplace highly enough

It was our pleasure to have you both and your daughter stay with us. Sometimes, when you're eight, it's more exciting to have a 'specia'l bed made up for you (well, that's what we used to tell our children!!).
Glad you had some good family time and we hope to see you again.
