“The Yak and Yeti, what an experience!”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

I called in a late booking minutes before my girlfriend and I were going out for a meal. It was a last minute decision. The Yak and Yeti accommodated us even though they were extremely busy. Upon arriving the staff were polite and friendly and had us seated in seconds. The menu was diverse and had plenty of vegetarian options for my girlfriend. The food was extremely tasty and arrived in good time. The price was very reasonable and we had a very good evening.

“Totally over-rated!”
Reviewed May 10, 2012

Had high hopes for this place after seeing it ranked 8th out of 30 something restaurants in Truro. However i was slightly concerned when we arrived to find the place practically empty on a saturday night. Food was distinctly average and not greatly authentic. Staff were friendly but overly attentive with drinks. Won't be back again.

“Take away review”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

We didnt realise this place did take away until we had a menu put through our door. We wished we hasn't bothered. Whilst the menu sounded good it's a shame the food didn't live up to the promise. Our lamb was so chewy it was like eating wood and the paneer was nowhere near as good as it could have been. The only positives were the naan rice and poppadoms. Maybe the restaurant is better but one to miss I'm afraid.

“My worst curry ever.....”
Reviewed May 6, 2012

I was extremely disappointed with this resturant and very surprised at the previous reviews. The staff were attentive on serving drinks, however the service of food was very slow. The curry I ordered (Chicken Royale) was suposed to be a 'medium spice', however it was inedible due to the excess of chillie in the dish!! I had to send the meal back and they did cook the dish at a milder spice, however the sauce tasted like a cheap jar from the supermarket and the texture of the chicken can only be described as rubberised. The other disapointing aspect of the meal was that after one round of drinks, the cheaper 'on draft' carlsberg seemed to miraculously run out and the only alternative was the nepalease beer at £4.95 a bottle. I would not recommend for anyone to have a meal at this resturant.....
