A lovingly maintained b&b that shines from the moment you walk in. The staff are extremely friendly and eager to help, the room we had (No 7, second floor) was furnished with top quality, modern fixtures and fittings to give a contempory feel to this traditional looking hotel. I looked hard for the slightest trace of neglect or dust and found neither. The 'breakfast room' downstairs is always supplied with tea, coffee, fruit etc and depending on the time of day, items to make yourself a snack. We checked in late afternoon which coincided with the fresh, warm scones and butter being brought out to compliment the homemade sponge cake already on offer. Perfect. Will definately use again.

warmly greeted on arrival, and supplied with a hot drink whilst luggage was taken to our room.we were then shortly shown to room 11,which is very tastefully decorated, situated up a small flight of stairs, and overlooks the beautiful secluded rear garden, which has chairs and tables for guests use.The room was plenty big enough for two of us,and has a sumptuous 6ft ,Queen size bed, together with plenty of pillows and cushions. Two large windows overlook the garden, and although both were open at night,it was very quiet and peaceful.Tea and coffee making facilities are provided together with quality biscuits,a hairdryer and iron.A leather bucket style chair, and flat screen television, add to the general comfort of the room. The breakfast room,is operated on a self service basis, which works perfect fully well.Items on offer included, breads, croissants, danish pastries, muffins, yogurts, cheeses, grapefruit, baked beans, cereals, fruit juices, numerous coffees, hot chocolate, together with herbal and fruit teas.A separate fridge is available for guests to place there own food in,also a microwave and toaster.
The rooms are located on the edge of the city,at the top of a hill.Took us ten minutes to walk to the centre, and less than £3 to return at the end of the night,by taxi.
A very nice little touch was that during afternoons, fresh cake was provided for guests, who popped into the breakfast room for a drink.
It would have been nice to have, two armchairs in the bedroom.
Make sure you visit the Shanghai Chinese restaurant, near the cathedral.Nicely decorated, good service with lovely tasty food, good sized portions,at a reasonable price.

This would have to be one of the nicest hotels/B & B I have stayed in.
The rooms have been beautifully refurbished and all come with huge comfortable king size beds, lovely furnishings, clean bathrooms that include complimentary shower gels etc, flat screen digital tv's and come with wireless internet access which is great.

The dining room is lovely and is accessable all day with a huge range of foods and drinks at your disposal.

The owners and staff are very welcoming and accomodating yet they are not intrusive what so ever.

A true find in Truro!

The owner here is very friendly, our bedroom was modern, clean and had everything we needed.
When we returned from our night out though, the man downstairs was snoring... and we could hear him quite plainly.
It didn't stop me sleeping though but my wife had a bit of a job.
Breakfast is a continental affair, fruit, croissants, toast etc but the breakfast room is a bit "transport cafe". You can use the fridge for your wine if you want and borrow glasses etc.
We'd certainly stay there again

I stayed for a single night on business. The room was excellent for a bed and breakfast and it exceeded my expectation. It does however appear that only the top floor (of two) of the property has been renovated. As you came down the stairs the decor changed and was more classic B&B. I stayed in room 8 which was decorated to a high standard. The bed was big and comfortable. It was certainly on a par with some chain 4* hotels I have stayed in. It is correct that you are left to sort out your own food, but I liked this informal approach, as I don't like the old fashioned formal full English B&B breakfast taken with other guests. In addition you can raid the larder at anytime which is useful for a late night snack.
