This Ask Italian is effectively faultless in so far as reliably providing what you expect to get every time. This is certainly meant as a compliment. the staff are always really friendly, helpful and efficient. The menu and dishes as served have never given any cause for complaint at all - in fact some are downright excellent for what one pays. The atmosphere is always lively yet relaxing, and its always a pleasure to eat out here. The 'theatre of cooking' is open to see, hear and smell from the open kitchen at the far end (an arrangement fortunately retained by Ask from when they replaced the failed 'Cafe Citron' some years back). As with their sister company 'Pizza Express', Ask has equally benefitted from the special offer and voucher code offers in keeping customers coming time and time again.

We were a table of 15, pre ordered food order, after an hour of waiting for the food to come I asked when it would be coming the reply was 'when it's cooked!' , her attitude didn't get any better when anyone asked for anything, the food was a mixture of pizza (which were all a bit shy of toppings) & pasta that was very dry with no sauce, when we asked our lovely waitress, we were told in her patronising tone that we had to stir the dish as it was baked & it was at the bottom, (I forgot we were all 3 years old!!) need less to say there was still no magical sauce, so after trying to sort out the bill & refusing to pay the service charge she over charged us £20!! Luckily the very kind manager must have heard where we were going and came and refunded us, so basically if you want not very exciting food and patronising rude service this is the place to go.

We had a lovely evening here for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The food was great, tasty and hot. The waitress was attentive even though she was rushed of her feet as the place was very busy.

Had another lovely meal here - reliable good and tasty food. It was the great service that made it special - Amy and Steph were clearly overworked as the place was busy with just the two of them waiting tables but they managed to keep smiling whilst delivering great service. Amy had served us on our previous visit and she was great then too - professional, warm and friendly. Will be back!

Main courses were good, the sea bass was lovely and tasty. Shared calamari starter a bit stuck together, but ok. We eat here with Tesco club card deals otherwise we find it too expensive, as there is now a lot of competition in Truro.
