“Great Stay”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

This is a great Bed and Breakfast. The owners are very friendly - even driving us to a nearby pub for dinner. It is great value for money with a tasty breakfast and home grown honey. I highly recommend it.

We stayed here in July 2011 and had a fantastic time - the owners were both lovely and their dog was an absolute gem! We immediately felt like one of the family as soon as we arrived and were free to go out and about when we pleased.

Brilliant breakfast that was really hearty and left myself and my girlfriend ready to take on the day. The B&B was picked for its remoteness, however it was a short drive to Truro and hardly anything to the other spots of Cornwall that we fancied visiting.

The only downside was that the en-suite was very small and didn't include a bath, however the house itself isn't massive and so having an en-suite at all was great.

Will happily stay here again - excellent value.

Room was big, cot provided for my 2 yr old. Massive bed which was comfy. Rooms are dated but the price was fantastic value for money. The owners were very friendly and this is definitely a family and pet friendly place. Lovers of stark boutique chic need not apply, it is a working farm! They very kindly let my daughter play with their daughters toys and watched her while we ate a proper full English, which was very very good. Little gem of a place in an increasingly expensive Cornwall.

I advise that you ring beforehand to ensure someone is at home. Check in is from 15:00, we arrived at 16:15 to find a note on the door saying "sorry, working late, be back at 17:45". No offer of access by key at all. This meant we then had to go in search of alternative accomodation at great inconvenience and cost after our journey from Yorkshire and Wiltshire. Obviously, the proprietors are trying to hold down jobs and run a B and B at the same time which clearly does not work. An online refund was effected straight away but that was no compensation for being so messed about. I would not recommend on this basis as they are clearly not committed to their business which seems to be a sideline when it suits. Beware!

Room Tip: unable to take up the accomodation we had paid for as hosts were not even at home!

Reviewed June 12, 2011

Myself and my partner stayed at Resparveth for the weekend in June 2011- it was the most fantastic B&B I have ever stayed at, and will certainly be back! The couple Lisa and Kevin who run the B&B are so welcoming and friendly, as is their baby and their dog Jack (who greeted us each time we pulled up outside, and went for walks with us up the country lanes!!) The room was clean and comfortable with crisp white bedding and a huge bed, and looked out onto a beautiful garden and fields. There was also a guest dining room and lounge with TV, and use of the garden. The B&B is a real home from home, set within farmland in the middle of the rolling countryside. There are some lovely pubs and shops just up the road, and we found it excellent commuting distance to the Eden Project, and Tintagel Castle. Lisa cooks the most wonderful breakfast in the mornings, made to your exact request, and to a high standard. I've never felt more at home away from home- it was like visiting friends, and they say they welcome pet dogs as well! If you want to stay somewhere welcoming, peaceful and in beautiful surroundings with characterful rooms- this is the place for you. Well done Lisa and Kevin!

Room Tip: Guest room at back of the house-big&great view
