Very clean hotel, lots of pools to choose from, the usual buffet breakfast but very good standard, you'd be hard pushed to not find something for everyone.
Great enthusiastic kids club staff and well organised programme for them too.
I would return.

Room Tip: Pay extra for pool view room.

The hotel was lovely to look at although the entertainment was poor, the nearest beach wasn't great and a good 20mins walk we got taxi to playa del ingles. The worst part of the stay was my coat was stolen from inside my room (it was locked at all times and I never took my coat out from when we arrived) not what you would expect from 5 star hotel! We complained at reception and was treated like pests the hotel said they would call me when I returned to England as I only discovered it was missing 4 hours before we were due to fly home. They never called. The rooms were basic for a five star very small we booked a room with a view and our 'view' was trees! Wifi was only in the reception area. The food was ok same as a four star really drinks were expensive. I won't be returning if I had to I would padlock my suitcase!

Dear Mrsholiday7
First of all we would like to thank you for having chosen the Lopesan Baobab Resort for your
recent holidays and of course for sharing your opinion in this website.
As we take guest criticism very serious we have already informed the Reception Department
Manager to take a close look in the mentioned matters, and it is more than probably that we
hadn't noted correctly your telephone number. We are very sorry that you felt badly treated by
some members of the reception staff and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that
may have caused.
We would also like to take the opportunity to comment that we trust in all the staff that work in
the hotel, specially those that work in the guest rooms, but of course, if you have suspicious
that your coat was stolen, we would like to recommend you to report it to the Police, because
they could make an investigation regarding your accusation.

On the other hand it is true that normally the free wifi is only in two public and central areas of
the hotel, but we provide it with charge in the rooms and in the rest of the facilities.
Nevertheless, if the manner you have been treated about the situation of your coat
disappearance has not been the correct one we apologize again for that matter.
After all we would like to thank you again for the provided information and we would love to
be given a second chance in order to provide you a more pleasant stay with us.

kind regards.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff which was very clean inside and out with numerous heated pools. The sunbed NO reservation rule is enforced, hurrah which meant you could take a late breakfast and still be able to sit In a decent spot round the pool.
For a five star resort there should be tea facilities provided in the room free of charge and free wifi in all areas. There should also not be a charge for the safe. There also needs to be a choice of ala carte restaurants which guests can opt to use as the buffet although plentiful does get repetitive. There is also no playground or much to do for the age groups 10-16.

Dear Phebies,
Thank you for have chosen us for your recent holidays and for sharing your opinion in this
website.
We would also thank you for letting us know the praise but of course also the criticism, which helps us to improve our services every day. We would like to comment that our Resort is not a
“all inclusive one” so, the external services such as wifi and safe, are provided but with charge.
We understand that a free wifi is necessary nowadays so, we offered it in two public and central
areas of the hotel.
I would like to add that we have two a la carte restaurants, but as I have commented before,
because of the kind of resort we are (a not all inclusive one) this a la carte service is not
included in the board.
We hope that you will visit us again in the near future and remain

We, two adullts and a six year old, spent one week at this beautiful hotel. Besides the nice architecture, the staff was friendly and accomodating, The room was comfortable and had a good view. The pools are numeruous and varied, and the buffet restauarants offered the best buffets I have ever had (morning and evening with the half board option) -- good quality and a changing and wide selection. My wife found the bed to bed a bit soft, but that was taken care of immediately. Our daughter fell ill, but there was a doctor inside the hotel!

In addition to those remarks about the hotel itself, the beach is a ten minute walk away, and shopping and the moonlight cinema only five minutes away.

This is an excellent relaxing hotel with a great African design for young families because there is a very active Kids Club both during the day and in the evenings. Bit of battle of get outside seating at peak times in the two eating areas, lovely environments but no see or any view to enjoy. Good selection of wines and reasonably priced Buffet style food with a wide variety of choice is available which was good quality of an international nature rather than Spanish. Staff and service is very good all round.

Excellent location for walking to the long sea front where there are many local restaurants with sea views plus shops, beach and nature reserve. Bus station is 5 minutes walk which allows you to get hourly buses to the fishing village of Magon (15 minutes, 4 Euros one way) or Las Palma (45 minutes, 6 Euros one way).

For a 5 star hotel I found it irksome to say the least in being told when arriving that I had to pay to activate the safe box in our room E17.50 for the stay! In addition, the lack of free Wi-Fi availability in the room or around the pools.

Room Tip: 3rd and 4th Floor sea view rooms recommended in order to get a view of the beach and sae from the ba...

Dear Woodstag,
It is good to hear that you have a good time with us and we thank you letting us know your
opinion.
We are very proud of our African theme and it is always nice to hear that our guests also enjoy
it.
Regarding your comment about the rental charge for the safe, we would like to add that is
normal service in a 5* hotel, but it doesn’t mean that must be included in the room price like the
laundry service or the minibar, those services depends of the brand and the market where the
hotel is located. I would like to add, that new since this week, we have a new service for our
guest s regarding the wifi connection. Our guests will enjoy WIFI access with the new
connectivity service "Mobile Internet Access" in any location of the island where there is 3g or
4g coverage, and we trust to have solved our connection problems with this new service.
We are looking forward to your next stay and remain

This was our first stay at the Lopesan Baobab and we definitely would return again. The hotel was the most beautiful we have stayed in, with a modern design and amazing architecture. The rooms were huge; the biggest we have ever stayed in and very modern. The location was very good with many local bars and restaurants just outside the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and on arrival we received a cocktail. The buffet provided was outstanding with a wide range of choice and a different theme every night. The bars had a great atmosphere which provided us with a pleasurable drink every night along side the very good entertainment additionally provided every night.

The pool area was also very well designed with an african theme matching the rest of the hotel. The pools were beautiful with many new sunbeds and plenty of parasols and a very efficient friendly drink service around the pool. There was also a very good gym.The only possible negative was that there was quite a few children when we went, however apart from this I couldn't fault the hotel.

Room Tip: If after better balcony view request a room on the pool side.

General description Five-star hotel Lopesan Baobab Resort has become one of the preferred destinations for family holidays of Spanish national tourists. Thanks to the uniqueness of its architecture inspired by the African continent, its impressive water landscapes with pools, rivers and waterfalls, as well as the high quality services offered, this hotel shows off ethnic charm, modernity and refinement. The hotel’s main entrance leads guests over a picturesque wooden bridge to the reception area, passing a grandiose aquatic landscape with waterfalls. From the lobby you can reach the hotel rooms or the large garden area, on a surface of 56,000 square metres, in the centre of which a large 21 metres high wooden African lodge is located; this lodge houses a restaurant and a bar. Common areas are connected by an extensive sheet of water crisscrossed by small bridges. In total there are nine swimming pools (all of them heatable at different temperatures) covering a total surface of 4,245 square metres. Specially outstanding are: the “lazy river”, two artificial beaches, pools with waterfalls and caves, the “chocolate” pool (the name of which refers to its brown colour) and the “two palm trees” pool, as well as a pool with water attractions for children and babies. The hotel’s leisure and recreation areas are enriched even more by a complete entertainment programme with a variety of activities during the day and in the evenings. Materials used for the hotel’s interior decoration and design were carefully chosen searching the appropriate item for every single corner of the hotel complex. On the walls of the hotel’s buffet restaurants guests will appreciate layers of natural coconut and wooden bricks, as well as French porcelain stoneware on the floors of the pool areas. Regarding the hotel rooms an exquisite finishing with high-quality woodwork and sound insulation was chosen. Other materials which can be found around the hotel are dry bamboo, die-cut steel or coloured mortar with added shredded straw to simulate adobe. Rooms The rooms’ interior design carefully combines colour schemes and African ambience. The Lopesan Baobab was built on a plot of 72,000 square metres with a total of 522 standard double rooms, 8 of them modified for guests with limited mobility and 17 deluxe double rooms with pool, perfect for guests looking for privacy, romanticism and/or relaxation; there are also 55 family doubles and 15 family doubles with direct access to the “chocolate” and the “two palm trees” pools, as well as 8 superior double rooms, 40 junior suites, 20 senior suites and 1 royal suite. There is no doubt that the hotel’s different room categories can meet any requirement or need guests may have, since they can choose from comfortable standard rooms, spacious family rooms, luxury rooms or magnificent suites for young and old. All rooms offer excellent views which vary depending on their location, as for example beautiful panoramic views on the dunes, on the nearby palm oasis, on the hotel’s garden area or the island’s mountain landscape. Gastronomy The Lopesan Baobab Resort offers high quality cuisine in all restaurants, characterized by an elevated level of creativity. For this purpose the hotel’s select kitchen staff puts special emphasis on using the best products and on preparing them in presence of the hotel guests. The ‘Akara’ Restaurant is only open for dinner and its name refers to an African recipe; it offers flavours from the very heart of Africa with a menu committed to originality. The hotel’s second a la carte restaurant is the ‘Pili Pili’ Restaurant, open at lunchtime and specialised in paellas, seafood and grilled meat. Furthermore, there are two buffet restaurants, the ’Marula’ and the ‘Baobab’, the premises of which are conveniently separated to provide differentiated atmospheres where delicacies from international occidental cuisine are served. The restaurants’ wine cellar provides an excellent selection of the finest wines from around the world as a complement to the great gastronomic offer. The hotel also hosts five bars, two of them located in the pool areas; Henry Stanley bar and Mungo Park Bar complete the resort’s restaurant and bar options. Leisure and sports activities The hotel has at its guests’ disposal a complete and varied entertainment programme, offering something for everybody. Many of the organised activities take place during the day and in the evenings, when it’s just the right time to have a drink or enjoy professional shows on the hotel’s outdoor plaza, on a specially designed stage, next to the magnificent African lodge. Furthermore the resort offers a fully-equipped gym and a varied wellness programme, as well as other activities for sports fans. For golf fans the golf courses of Meloneras Golf and Maspalomas Golf are available and a free bus shuttle service to these golf courses is provided by the hotel. For the little hotel guests fun is guaranteed at the hotel’s Panchi World Mini-Club with a stage and two pools for children, one of them with a water-slide. The Lopesan Baobab Resort also houses specially equipped rooms for conferences, conventions and events with highly functional and stylish facilities which can be easily modified and adapted to hold particular events.
