This hotel has a perfect location by the sea and the nice boulevard. On a short evening stroll, you reach plenty of nice restaurants and stores. When deciding to go back for our second visit, the main reason was the heated pool. The comfortable temperature in the water ensured happy kids all day long – no need for play areas or children clubs. With a good overview of the entire pool and a nice sea view, the parents were also equally happy – although I really would love a more comfortable sunbed. The design of the hotel and the rooms seems a bit outdated, but it’s nice and clean and we were perfectly happy with the service in all areas. The junior suites are spacious and perfect for families. I can also highly recommend the spa. We are going back this coming week, and we have our fingers and toes crossed – hoping that the temperature in the pool is the same as last October and that we will meet a friendly staff this time as well.

Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort & Corallium Thalasso
This hotel has some really lovely aspects which I will emphasise after detailing with the negatives. Firstly it is listed as 5 star. Not sure how this can be true after one has experienced the basic Sun beds with no cushions, the very thin towels in the bathrooms which looked like they were decorated by a 6 year old and the need to queue for a sitting in the main restaurant which is buffet style. It is also worth noting that if you purchase wine in the restaurants that you will need to drink it on the night as you cannot carry it over. As we are in our 70's we cannot always consume a full bottle. This policy is not a problem as long a single you are advised about it. Unfortunately, in our case the waiter advised us to take the half drunk bottle away and bring it back the following evening. On doing this the restaurant manageress advised us in no uncertain terms, infront of many other customers that this was not allowed. Unfortunately she also felt that telling us once was not enough and advised us again whilst showing us to a table in the restaurant. If we had actually been aware of the restaurant policy it would not have happened in the first place, but to embarrassed us twice in one night showed extremely poor customer service. The good points are as follows. The hotel is in a lovely location with a gate out onto the sea front and access to bars and restaurants within short walking distance. The hotel main build is lovely and the central Plaza is a place to relax and consume a drink if your liking. Sun bathing areas are numerous, although beds are uncomfortable. There are a number of pools nad a lovely Spa. The goo din the restaurants arre excellent and the chefs cannot do enough. Not somewhere we would revisit, but only because of the poor customer service that we received. We have stayed at the other Leopesan hotels in Melonaris and never had a problem of this nature.

Regarding the buffet restaurants, we would like to inform you that it is not necessary to reserve them or go earlier because you can seat where you want. It is true that a lot of repeater guests have preferences with the areas and they go earlier to take the favorite zone or table.
About the company position in which the clients can not bring back the open drinks is due to healthy and sanity reasons. Of course if you do not drink your entire wine bottle, you can bring it with you to the room. But you can not bring this bottle back on the next day. Of course the restaurants offer now different size and type of wines, to give the clients more options.
Our apologies for the embarrassing incident you mentioned. We have already informed to the hotel management to be taken into consideration and improve the service every day

The hotel looks amazing. I love the lobby. It's my kind of style, so I was really impressed when we first got there at night. The hotel is big and there are a lot of tourists, hoewever you do not feel like it crowded, you can almost always find a place at the pool, which are are clean. There are not many kids in the hotel (at least when we were there), so there is quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The food at the restaurant was really good. I would not recommend desserts, as most of them tasted like ready-bought cakes. Nevertheless creme brulee was really nice and if you eat there, you should try it. The fruits sweet and juicy. The shrimps were amazing. The lady over there was great, smiling and very very friendly. Most of the waiters were great and very welcoming, there was one person who made us feel like we are not welcome there, just because some people from our group did not behave like they should. The rooms were clean and very big with nice view of a garden. The cosmetics were not replenished, however it did not cause a big problem to us as we bought some cosmetics in the town.
Most of the people there speak English so it is easy to communicate. People there are really friendly and they seem to lead unstressful life, which is calming and really pleasant feeling. If I ever come back to Gran Canaria I will probably stay at this hotel again.
Oh! and I loved the little treats at the desk every night with a saying of a famous person. I really loved it.

Stayed here in August during the busiest time...
In fairness, the hotel is lovely, the service is spot on, the friendliness of the staff is also spot on but it what spoilt it for us is if the fact that on most days we were unable to get a sunbed by the pool unless we went straight after breakfast. On to occasions we just gave up and sat on the balcony.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for value, the bar drinks are very reasonable, as is the mini bar in the room and the laundry is so cheap it was worth my getting most clothes washed prior to our departure so minimum dirty laundry when home!
Two big positives as follows...
After being delayed for 7 hours we arrived at 1AM, tired and hungry, the hotel had set out a section of the restaurant with cold food and water for us and others who were arriving late.
When we woke the following morning our balcony view was overlooking a car park, I spoke with reception that morning and they were able to move us to a better location.
Prior to arriving I changed the dates twice due to a death in the family and having to make funeral arrangements, the hotel were super understanding and helpful with no extra costs.
During our stay I made various requests for extra pillows, a duvet (to make the sofa bed more comfortable for my daughter) , a light bulb which had gone, and I can honestly say each request was expedited very quickly and efficiently.
Due to changing holiday, we were here only sons 12th birthday, I did not mention this to the hotel as we had arranged to go out for dinner on the night but the hotel sent a card and cake to the room !!!

I always like to mention the housekeeping, which was tremendous, the hotel is spotless as was our room, great job.
We ate out three times during our seven night stay but there is quite a nice dinner service / buffet if you are on half board like us... food was good and fresh , we just needed a bit of a change over a few nights.

All in all, a good stay, however, I might try the sister hotel next time due to it having a better location.
