“Lovely, Lovely Home”

Sanderling House catered to all of our needs.
Very well equipped, nicely furnished and a power-shower to work on those shoulders after a full day of walking with back packs, building sand castles and swimming in the sea.
Every conceivable utensil; wet day books and games; a huge garden visited by lots of birds and enough space for everyone to spread out. Wales was kind to us so we were able to enjoy the large gas bbq. WiFi, smart TVs and docking stations were also available; making this a place that really did cater for all.
And, to top it off, loads of great local information. Laminated maps with great directions to menu options for local restaurants and pubs, in addition to the standard promotional leaflets on the more well knows places such as Tenby or St. Davids. We would definitely book Sanderling again.

“Magical home-from-home for seaside and harbour lovers”

We are repeat visitors to this special place. The warmth and generosity of the couple who own the house is evident throughout; very well-equipped; clean and piles of towels! The sun trap at the back of the house looking onto the magical hill garden is another highlight. Sanderling could not be better positioned - 2 mins walk to the best seafood pub in Wales and the wonderful harbour with full sailing facilities at West Wales Watersports. More loveliness in Dale awaits but you'll just have to go and see for yourself!

Our fourth time in Sanderling, always so pleasing, almost feels like ours now. We enjoy sitting in the garden and watching the birds. Walking in the area, around St Annes Head, stunning. Marloes and catching the boat to Ramsey Island from St Martins Haven. Jill the pleasant owner is always at the end of the phone if there was a query. Close to Haverfordwest and Broad and Little Havens where there are wonderful restaurants. Griffin, a couple of minutes away by foot serves delicious food espeically fish. Went to the Shed in Porthgain this year for the first time, a wonderful experience for fish food. Looking forward to going back again in the future.

“Perfect House and Location”
Reviewed June 19, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Sanderling house was perfect for all our needs, we were a party of 6 adults and 5 dogs staying for a week.jill provided plenty of information on the house and location, where to eat and places to visit.

The layout of the house was very good for people with mobility issues, there was plenty of space for the whole family to relax in or outside, we had great weather so spent most of our time in the south facing garden. The garden is full of wildlife , we spent a lot of time just relaxing and watching the comings and goings of the birds.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need including a large pan for cooking paella. There is enough crockery for filling the dish washer saving on washing up and more time relaxing.

The location is great we have been holidaying in Pembrokeshire for the last 4 years and this was the last bit of the coastline we had yet to discover, we saved the best until last, the area is just beautiful. We did the headland walk as recommended by Jill, it 6.6 miles of breathtaking views hidden little coves and even a shipwreck. We particularly liked the Dale beach which is a 15 minute walk from the house and the dogs loved it.

The village has everything you might need, a top class pub/restaurant, a cafe and water sports centre. My family particularly liked the jewellery shop that specialists in hand made silver designs.

I could go on for hours but I won't spoil it for you, all I would say is, you will not be disappointed if you stay at Sanderling house.

“Outdoor Base or Just Relax”
Reviewed June 11, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

After a long day sightseeing on the way down to Dale everyone was tired and ready to settle and we were greeted to a fine experience.

The property is set about 5 mins slow walk away from the shingle beach on a quiet residential road (one way traffic) and is very quiet. The house has a large living room upstairs which is fully equipped with TV, radio, wifi and also a large collection of books and board games. The 4 bedrooms can easily accommodate 8 people and TVs and radios are also found in 2 of the bedrooms. Even on a wet day it might be difficult to be bored.

A large well equipped kitchen allows for home cooking and for those followers of outdoor pursuits a utility room allows for washing of clothes. The garden has various levels to sit in and a wide variety of birds to watch from the kitchen.

If one is coming to the area it is either for relaxation or recreation. The house has a large number of leaflets, brochures and booklets on what can be seen and done in the near vicinity and general area. From sea activities (activity centre in Dale), walking (Pembrokeshire Coastal Path) and historical sightseeing the property is an excellent base for all activities. You could experience a holiday with your car never leaving the drive.

Within Dale itself is the Griffin pub with an excellent menu. Bookings are recommended. The yacht club also does meals and there is a snack bar/shop on the front.

Although we were only able to stay for 2 nights I'd recommend it to anyone

“Great Place to Stay”

This fantastic house is conveniently located in the village of Dale. It is a great place to base yourself to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast Line or if you are walking, the Welsh Coastal Path. The house is spacious, well maintained and extremely clean. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with everything you would need or want for a self catering holiday. The bedrooms are of a good size, the beds clean and fresh. The lounge, located on the first floor is again well equipped with TV, Bluetooth, Books, Games, Video games, Wii. Every entertainment has been thought of - which, given the vagaries of the Welsh weather could come in handy!!. The garden is quirky but has a sense of tranquility with different "gardens" at every tiered level - great to explore! We were able to "check in" early and "out " late which was of tremendous benefit. The village of Dale is picturesque and the Griffin Pub, as well as being a first class pub serving first class ales is one of the best seafood restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining in.
